We had an overall excellent stay. A lovely room, quiet, warm, clean. Friendly and helpful staff made our stay a pleasure, including making our little canine friend super welcome. We loved the breakfast each morning, the local cheese is a must! Unfortunately, the dinner restaurant has no chef. It is simply reheated pre-prepared food, and at an astronomical price. Too late once we realized. Perhaps the owners can be more clear on this. Better to go elsewhere in Troyes for dinner. We were surprised that Amex was refused.

Second time I have been here in a week, and I cannot heap enough praise on this hotel. Achingly beautiful half timbered building, super cosy bedrooms with piles of fluffy towels and robes, great friendly staff, and a breakfast in a log fired room to die for. Absolutely superb. I’ll be back!

Fantastic little hotel nestled in the medieval old town of Troyes. Wonderful breakfast (if a little pricey) in idealic courtyard - rooms were well appointed and as you would expect in a 15th century buildings- staff were very welcoming, informative and friendly

Very nice hotel near the centre of Troyes. Magnificent restored medieval palace. Rooms are large and luxurious. Excellent large bed. Large bath but shower head could not be fixed to the wall. Perfect breakfast with every choice you want served in the inner courtyard. Magical. Only negative point: diner was ok. Tasty basic food but horribly expensive :39 euro for some gravlax, 29 euro for a pasta bolognese and 35 euro for chicken leg. Not ok. At that price give the customer a nice gastronomic menu. Or diminish the price with 10 euro per course.

An exquisite hotel taking full advantage of its 15th century historical foundations- quiet but located close to the action - restaurants, bars and all the cultural centres.
The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly.
An absolute joy all round.
Only criticism (not mentioned at the time) was the bathroom didn’t have a proper shower or curtain- a walk in shower would have been wonderful (but we appreciate the constraints of a medieval building).
Thoroughly recommended!

We stayed one night with a day in Troyes. Hotel was perfect. Clean, very friendly staff, and great location. We stayed on 2nd floor and our room was quiet and very comfortable. The hotel is Charming. We only had one day and enjoyed walking the town.

We spent couple nights with my two babies at the Champs des Oiseaux. It is a beautiful charming hotel, pool is a plus Every details is to make you welcome and well thought and decorated with taste. Very quiet, amazing beds. Breakfast is delicious and bespoke as well. We will définitely come back and recommend 300%

Lovely hotel, convenient but away from the busy streets. The staff are lovely. Appreciate that it is a very old building but the decor and facilities in the rooms could be better, especially the bathrooms, very basic even in a deluxe double. The rooms are very average for a very expensive hotel. If you have breakfast make sure you choose everything as it is 30 Euros each, even if you only have coffee and a bowl of fruit!! The dinner options are very limited but nice, again tho not worth the money charged.

A difficult hotel to rate. I gave a three out of five rating but it could have been 4. On the plus side are location, staff, and staying in a beautifully restored medieval building. On the negative are price and, for our room at least, a bath but no shower and at the top of two old fights of rickety stairs. The room was in the loft so guests need to be aware of the timbers which encroach into the room. Having said that the room is beautifully furnished and stocked. The tv is very limited if you’re looking for English speaking tv. Wi-Fi was reasonable. Breakfast was very enjoyable in the typical French tradition. There is very limited hotel paid parking but free street parking nearby.
