Our first visit, fourteen years ago, made a really lasting, positive impression upon us. Unfortunately I became ill while there, and was unable to eat the wonderful food I was presented with. Without going into details about my illness, I just couldn’t eat very much at all. The staff were so caring, concerned about my well being, but also concerned that there might something more they could do to make my stay more comfortable, I felt I was important to them. That was remarkable. The whole experience was first class, I was just so disappointed that I couldn’t enjoy the wonderful food which was on offer. It’s taken a while for us to return, but my husband’s birthday was a good excuse. This time, I was able to fully enjoy the same care and excellent service, stunning food, warm and friendly ambience, and relaxing few days. Thank you to all at the hotel Balmoral. I look forward to our next visit. Keep up the excellent work and attention to detail !

This has been our second visit and we came again because we are so very pleased with all aspects of your hotel. The staff are super friendly and helpful, the room we had (again) number 26 was great and had been requested because we are not great with stairs anymore... The food also was exemplary and the menu changed every day usually including lovely fish. We appreciate the type of guests we encounter, similar age group and nicer types than most other hotels happen to attract! Don't know how that works but we always have a nice chat with like-minded people. You have what to us is the most attractive hotel in Torquay and we will certainly plan to visit again! Many thanks for an enjoyable stay.

We have regularly visited the Balmoral Hotel because of the family atmosphere and the welcome you get from all the staff, and it starts from the time you get there. The 5 course evening meal is second to none and the menu has plenty of choice’s on there. Breakfast is a matter of whatever you request you got. We had room 5 on this visit and every thing in the room was well clean and tidy alone with this the room services was excellent. We shall be visiting again in the near future

Another fantastic stay at the Hotel Balmoral. The hotel is in a quiet location but close enough to Torquay. Meadfoot beach is a 2 minute stroll away. As usual a fantastic breakfast sets you up in the morning for a day of exploring and the evening meal was equally as good. All the staff work tirelessly to ensure everyone is looked after. we are all looking forward to returning later in the year.

We had a very pleasant stay at The Balmoral last weekend .We were particularly impressed with the food , we agreed that it is probably the best we have ever had in an English hotel We would also like to commend the Balmoral team for their excellent service especially Samantha for whom nothing was too much trouble

A very well presented hotel. All staff made us feel extremely welcome. The food was really good with enough choice to cater for all tastes. Our room was spotless. This was our second stay at the hotel. both being a weekend brake which included evening entertainment.very good value for money. Looking forward to a third break at this hotel.

As always everything was excellent, lovely large clean room, helpful, friendly and professional staff, and of course the food was superb. We were very impressed by the entertainment which was far better than on our last visit! Could just do with a little help with luggage when you are on the top floor, I’m sure if we had asked it would have been forthcoming! Thankyou everyone.

On our bikes travelling around Devon, we spent two nights here and were very impressed by the friendliness of the staff. They were very accommodating of our electric bikes. The hotel was clean, the location central, and the food great. We needed the extra calories after 60km of riding each day. Well done guys.

Brilliant! Absolutely superb service, quality and value. This a very friendly hotel and the staff go the extra mile to ensure everything is OK. Rooms and common areas are beautifully and tastefully decorated and a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout. Food is quite exceptional and the service in the dining room was first rate with the staff engaging with guests rather than simply placing meals in front of them. A particular mention and thanks to the young lady (sorry, we didn't get her name) who served us on Friday and Saturday. Her manner and attitude were very professional and friendly and she deserves great credit and thanks for this, particularly as so many young people get such a bad press. This was our second visit and we were accompanied by our very good friends who were equally impressed by this great hotel. We will be back as soon as we can. Our only gripe...our weekend stay passed too quickly!
