Apartamentos Cordial Magec Taurito

We booked with Jet2 Holidays, the price including car was amazing. The apar**ents are recent build so modern, clean and bright. All the staff were smiley and helpful, in particular we'd like to single out Adrian who went beyond the expected in every way, including writing on the map all his recommendations. (We followed his advice to Pico de las Nieves and ate at his suggested restaurant in Tejeda, he wasn't wrong). You will need to visit Spar in Mogan, or Mercadona in Maspalomas (I'm sure there are others but nothing you'd care to eat from the little Taurito shop, OK for booze and ice, so I think a car is a necessity). The pool terrific for proper swimming and enough sun loungers for all sun worshippers. If I was asked to suggest an improvement it would only be sunshades on at least one of the apar**ent terraces, and a comfy outdoor chair, but I'm being picky, we had a great time and loved it. I've given it maximum stars because we got much more than we paid for! We only dined there one night but the restaurant was buffet style, clean, bright, and the same smiling staff.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Like other reviews say, it’s quiet and just enough out of the way. Just a 10 minute walk into Taurito (if that) to the water park, shops, beach. It’s modern, new, clean (room cleaned most days) and minimalist. Lovely pool area, lots of beds. Staff are fabulous, all so helpful & friendly. The life guard (whose name I should know) has been mentioned positively so many times, he must be the sweetest, kindest, most positive person I’ve met! So good with the children and chatted to everyone. We didn’t have a food package as we wanted to explore, but we still had breakfast, lunch and dinner on a few of the days. It was varied and ample, always something for the children. Typical buffet food. Bar menu at lunch was good, big portions. Good value overall. Things that would make it amazing: - [ ] The hotel was half empty and I couldn’t understand why you wouldn’t upgrade when low occupancy. Simple to do and makes a lasting memory & positive advocacy for other future bookings. - [ ] Late check out - I was so pleased to get this co firmed on our last day as we had a late evening flight. But to the above point, I would have been surprised not to be able to do this given low occupancy. However, when I came to pay the bill for the weeks food and drinks, there was a 40 Euro charge. I wasn’t told at the point of requesting and if I had been told, I probably wouldn’t have taken it. - [ ] There is no bar area, I think this is what makes the place feel anonymous or lacking a**osphere, there isn’t a central point or hub for guests to relax in the evening. Would recommend for a lovely chilled stay. We really enjoyed our dose of Canarian sunshine at this peaceful hotel. Tip - if fully self catering then think about hiring car to stock up at the supermarket in Mogán. There is a small supermarket in Taurito, but very little fresh meat, fruit or vegetables.

These apar**ents are possibly the nicest we've ever stayed at, they're modern, spacious and airy, all with lovely views over the pool and resort. We were there 10-19 March, the weather was perfect, and we had a most enjoyable holiday. A few other people on Trip Advisor said the cleaning routine wasn't very good. We did not find that. A cleaner came in almost every day. Towels were changed at least 4 times in our 9 nights, and the bedding was changed halfway through our stay. The bins were emptied each time, and the bathroom cleaned too. The bedroom has plenty of storage, including a safe (chargeable at about 15 euros a week - you set your own code for extra security). Both the bedroom and the lounge, which has a modern double sofa bed, have sliding patio doors onto a large balcony which overlooks the pool or the garden. The shower was lovely with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The hairdryer was powerful too! There is also air conditioning in the lounge and bedroom, at no additional charge. The kitchen has a fridge-freezer, combination microwave, 2-ring hob, kettle, toaster and coffee machine. We chose a bed and breakfast package. There was a huge selection of food at the breakfast buffet. Cereals, fruit, juices, yogurts, cheese, ham, salads, baked goods, cooked items (bacon, eggs, etc) and 2 machines for hot drinks. You can even have some bubbly if you want it! We paid extra to have dinner there on a couple of nights - again this was buffet style and the choice was extensive. There were hot and cold dishes (fish, meat, pasta, rice, potatoes, salads, soup) and desserts. On a few days we had lunch at the poolside snack bar. The portions were huge! After the first time we learned that one dish was enough for the two of us, like a triple decker toasted sandwich with chips! The pool was lovely, it's heated outside of the high season and I found the temperature very pleasant. No shortage of sun beds and umbrellas. The lifeguard was a friendly guy, great at giving toys to the kids in the water. In fact, all the staff were fantastic - nothing was ever too much trouble and they always made sure you were greeted with a smile. Any extras you want to purchase are added to your room bill which you pay on departure. There are 3 lifts in the building which is mostly over 4 floors. On floor 2 (the lowest floor) there is the restaurant and pool. Also there are 2 washing machines and a dryer. One floor up houses the small gym which has a cross trainer, a treadmill, an exercise bike and some weights/bench press equipment. Floor 4 has a vending machine. Reception is on the top floor, a few steps down from the street, but there is also a ramp. The apar**ents have a quiet position at the end of the resort. This is maybe the only drawback - you have a long downhill walk to the town and the beach, so conversely it's a long uphill walk back. But it does make for peaceful nights and we slept really well. Buses stop at the bottom of the road, about 100m away.

The hotel is placed on a road at the upper part of Tauritos. The Apar**ents are large and we had one with garden acces and a large terrace. In general the hotel is really anonymous, boring and nothing has been done to make it look cozy. If you arrive in car you can buy a parking lot, but the lot is really small and requires some driving skills. The cleaning is really low and nearly not existing. After a complain about cleaning to reception nothing happened. After a mail to HQ they cleaned with a vacuum cleaner, but bathroom, toilet and kitchen was still not cleaned. In one of our rooms the bin was filled and not changed. If you only need an apar**ent where you can cook food and sleep this is a good place but require a car.

5th stay here and we keep coming back the place is perfect for us, wonderful apar**ents, great pools, staff, location all is perfect. Great value for money if you're a Cordial Club member, we go next door to the hotel for night entertainment and 5*****Spa. Love every minute of the holidays. They keep improving (less cats, new spa, work on the ground) Special mention to the blonde lady (securista) at the bar pool she really takes her job seriously. Entertainment team lacking a bit this year but the hotel next door welcomes everybody for great shows.

Very nice small hotel on the edge of the resort. Spotlessly clean and tidy everywhere on the complex . Very friendly, helpful polite staff , especially on reception. Also the lifeguard seemed such a nice guy who always took the trouble to speak and get the pool inflatables out for the kids each day.

We spent the most wonderful 2 weeks at this amazing hotel. I travelled with my husband and son who is 10 and we were so impressed. The staff are brilliant, a special shout out to MONICA, DAVID, ASUNCION, RICARDO, ELIECET, ELI, ANALIA. ISABELA, ROMAN, HAKIN and of course ABRAHAM who were so kind and helpful.  The hotel overall is spotless.  They are kept immaculate by the in-house team. The modern one-bedroom apar**ents with air-conditioning, kitchen, spacious living room and large terraces/balconies are very big and clean. The location is great for a family holiday in a quiet environment just a few steps away from a spectacular water park and Taurito Beach a fantastic sandy beach.      We cannot wait to return next year. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel, you made our holiday very memorable!!!

Amazing hotel, I'd rate it higher than 3 stars! Everything is fresh and new still unlike the majority of traditional Spanish hotels which are old and worn-out. A quiet and relaxing hotel which wasn't busy during our stay. Great double balcony and walk-in shower. Swimming pool is perfect with no fight for sun loungers in the morning, always some available throughout the day. I'd like to say thank you to all of the staff who worked tirelessly to keep the guests happy, especially Hakeem the lifeguard who went above and beyond with the our daughter and other kids to keep them entertained during the day, lovely guy! Received an unexpected bottle of sparkling wine in our room to celebrate my birthday, lovely touch. No reflection on the hotel whatsoever but the resort itself is very run down especially the water park. Needs a good clean, general maintenance and money spent on the place.

The apar**ents and resort are still ‘showroom new’ at the moment so everything was clean and fresh. A great apar**ent (with double balcony) to stay in and the facilities were excellent. Loved the pool and the views were great. The hotel staff were also very helpful and friendly. Can’t comment on the food as we stayed as self catering. The area itself is quiet but ideal if that’s the kind of stay you’re looking for. We hired a car and regularly went to Mogan and Puerto Rico but Taurito was always nice to come back to. We did notice lots of buses and available taxis so plenty of options to visit other resorts should you choose to stay in Taurito. What would have been useful is a welcome pack/booklet provided by the hotel itself, all we were given was one sheet of paper with limited information on it. Overall an excellent experience and we would go again. Simon, Tony and Harry
