The White House

Not my first time here, I still find this lovely B&B the best place to stay for a night before an early flight at Stansted airport. Beautiful house, comfortable beds, clean bedrooms and bathrooms, lovely, friendly owners. Smashing. Best place to spend the night before an early flight!

Perfect stopover . Comfortable beds , clean white bedding , breakfast left in fridge for morning , yoghurt fruit toast butter and preserves . Interesting building .. will use again if we fly from Stansted . Traffic noise but does not affect sleep and much less during night . Sadly did not realise we could leave cars for duration of stay for £7 per night but is a very good idea Thank you to the owners 🙂

Not my first time here, and definitely not my last. Beautiful and comfy and cosy B&B very close to Stansted, the hosts are simply the friendliest people on Earth, and for a small fee, you can leave your car for the duration of your holiday. Will be back!

We used White House to park our catcher two weeks while we had our family holiday. The owners were really helpful. Although wecdidnt stay at the B&B we did have a look inside and it looked very clean and well decorated. I would have been happy to stay there. On our return we arrived late (10.45pm) due toi flight delays. To make matters worse, our car battery was flat. The owners very kindly jump started our car. I would highly recommend parking at White House. Good value for money and helpful people.

We stayed at the White House waiting for a flight at Stansted and were so pleased with the beauty of the grounds and surrounding area. The bed was very comfortable and the people were very friendly. In addition, I forgot a valuable item which the owners so kindly mailed and returned to me. It's so nice to connect with good people while travelling. Thank you.

We have stayed at The White House pre-pandemic and had a really pleasant experience, nice room for the family, great breakfast and warm welcome. So we opted to make a return visit and stay again for a family party locally. Sadly were really disappointed this time around. 1. Disappointing that on this occasion there was no-one to greet us, the keys in a key safe and fob to enter the hotel (instructions sent by e-mail). 2. With no-one on site, issues like being locked out of our room as the door handle fell off the door when the closing the door. We reported the failed door lock by phone. To be told by the owners "we are 40 miles away and unable to resolve quickly, will have to get a friend to call in". Fortunately we had some clothing still in the car, as unable to access our room and belongings. We were local only overnight for a family party so couldn't wait. Maintenance did attend whilst we were out so we could get back in the room for the overnight stay. 3. Bedding was torn and there were holes in the main bed sheet. The Wardrobe draw missing handles and the draw not useable. Sons camp bed was unstable. 4. Iron was available, but no ironing board, when asking for one, was told one was not available and was then asked to iron clothes on the bed. 5. We booked a family room, however, got one with a separate bathroom (whilst nicely presented and well decorated for adults) for a family room with children, and no shower, was not really practical. 6. Last time we had a lovely cooked breakfast, this time a continental breakfast left in a Guinness beer fridge outside the room, plugged into an extension lead. Cereal, Toast and fruit was to be eaten in the room with 2 single beds and the double bed, with no table. 7. Tea and coffee not restocked and previous tenants usage evident (open packed of biscuits and empty sugar packets left). the jam in the fridge had butter in it from a previous stay. 8. The external photos on the website, certainly do not reflect the number of vehicles being parked on site (assume for airport parking). We would have given 4 stars after our last visit, however on this occasion the hotel was someway off that. The hotel feeling more like a Holiday in express, but also feeling unloved and leaving us really disappointed with our £145 overnight stay.

Let's start with the Guest House itself. Great value for money, the cheapest BY FAR and parking for £5 a night what more could you want! We arrived late Saturday night and flew early Sunday and wanted to get a taxi sorted. The owner gave us a handful of taxi firms to use and we quickly got one booked. The room was lovely and homely, just what we needed and had a coffee machine and fridge etc. The shower was great and everywhere was clean and tidy. Ideal place if travelling from Stansted and about a 7 minute drive from the terminal! Now to the hosts.. We flew back in the middle of storm Eunice and after a horrendous flight and the chaos in the airport as a result of the weather disruption, we could not find a taxi or transport back to the guest house to collect our car. I called the guest house and asked if they knew any other taxi firms we could try as the 41 minute walk in the storm wasn't taking my fancy. Without hesitation the owner told us to make our way to the Raddison Hotel and he would collect us and bring us back to the guest house!!! He was amazing and made our awful day so much easier. He was there within 10 minutes and got us back to the car straight away and we will be forever grateful for that so thank you so much! Will definitely stay here again and we are so grateful for the owners going above and beyond for their guests!

Convenient overnight accommodation with parking for early Stansted flight departures. TWH is an old residential house set back from a main road, about 5 minutes by taxi from Stansted. There are 3 letting rooms. Ours was a spacious ensuite with everything we needed … Nespresso machine, kettle, heater, nice towels & robes, tv, biccies, breakfast items in the fridge, toaster etc. The room was very clean, nicely decorated & surprisingly quiet. Parking is well organised by the owner with an allocated space number and a charge of £5/day. As an airport stopover with parking, TWH was perfect. The only downside was the cost of taxis to & from the airport which at £23 & £18 plus £7 airport exit fee per journey added £55 to the cost of staying away from the typical airport hotels.

Not only was our room clean and bright and homey, there was a fridge outside our door full of lots of goodies that the oth us and the children enjoyed. The bathroom was large and beautiful. We got there late in the evening and were flying out very early. The hosts kindly gave us taxi numbers and advised we called and booked one in advance when I rang to book the hotel. Our greeting was warm and welcoming and the lady kindly answered questions of where we can go to get dinner. We ate at the pub a few minutes walk away, I'd definitely recommend it, the food was beautiful... but that's for another day. On top of this the owner went above and beyond and we (especially our 2 year old) are so very greatful! Whilst I was on my holiday the lady emailed me to say she had found my.sons "charlie the hungry Caterpillar " teddy down the side of the bed. As we were still abroad, and had caught a train to London from north wales, there was no way of popping by in the way home without missing trains and connections. She kindly offered to send him back to our home address. I offered to pay her the return postage and a bit more on top as a thank you gesture but she just wanted him reunited with his teddy. He sleeps with his Caterpillar every night. Tha k you so much for sending him home, fortunately, the hungry Caterpillar didnt eat his way out the package haha. Well recommend. If we fly from Stansted again, this is were we will stay again. Thanks for everything! Sorry itsstaken so long for me to come on and write this review. Lisa , Ben, the children, and Caterpillarxxx
