Avonpark House

Incorrect pictures on website and misleading, garden in particular is appalling overgrown long grass very shabby indeed, broken down gazebo. Arrived mid day 15th November meet by Maria the host very nice that was the last time we saw her, showed us to no 5 ground floor room, first impression very nice on further inspection a few things need to be addressed, curtain track rusty, towel rack a bit of rust on it,shower head needs to be bleached as quite a few holes were clogged up with limescale, and as usual the shower tray as usual mastic just rubbed round as it has been renewed at some time but please do it right especially as the shower cubicle was lovely. Breakfast very nice only saw Martin 2 times serving breakfast no dialects no conversation nowt. Final thing car park could do with a very good sweep as to a lot of loose grit, small things I know but easy to rectify .

The service is great, varied options for breakfast and welcoming. Needs a little refresh in the bedroom. Personal option but would prefer less clutter and more surface space. Overall a clean, tidy place in a great location. Deals are offered if you book direct.

Avon park House is first class. It is very well run by Martin and Maria. Everything works. The rooms are very clean and well equipped with many extras. Breakfast is well organised with a wide choice. The food is excellent. I have been coming for some years,and things are regularly upgraded over time. There is free car parking ,very useful in Stratford. It is an easy and enjoyable walk into the town using the Old Tramway. Martin does offer a small reduction for solo travellers unlike so many guest houses who charge a standard room rate.

Very friendly, clean, well organised with good size showers and great breakfasts. Very convenient for Stratford centre and the RSC theatre by an easy walk along the old tramway although not lit at night. Free off road parking too. Restaurants in easy walking distance.

Just had a lovely stay here. Rooms lovely and clean. Had the most beautiful view over the garden. Breakfast was whatever you would like plenty of choice. The hosts so welcoming and nothing too much trouble for them. Short walk into town. Would definitely recommend.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Avonpark House. It was the perfect choice for access to the town without needing to use the car. We had a standard ground floor room facing the road. There was a little traffic noise, but not enough to disrupt our sleep, even with the small windows open at night. The room was not large, but we had plenty of space and everything was very clean. We had everything we needed in the room and the fan was very welcome as it was very hot the day we arrived. The bathroom is quite small, but again, very clean. Towels were great and the shower was excellent. A hook on the back of the door and also a small tray in shower would have been useful. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of choice. There is just enough space for each room to park a car in front, off the road, and other guests were careful to leave enough room between each car as the spaces are quite tight. To walk into town there is a couple of minutes to walk along to the Old Tramway pub and then cut through to the excellent pathway into town which only takes about 10 minutes. We parked our car on arrival on Weds and didn’t use it again until we left on Sat. We had two full days in the town and had enough to do to fill them. We particularly enjoyed the Stratford Nature Reserve; the Guild Chapel (the volunteer in there gave us a very interesting talk about it); the gardens by the river and the butterfly place. A lovely town and Avonpark House was the perfect place to stay!
