Radisson Blu Balmoral Hotel, Spa

Helpful reception personnel and overall a pleasant stay. Good shower and nice clean rooms. The sleeping couch was not so fine to sleep on but overall good. Breakfast was outstanding. Unfortunately the swimming pool was not included in the room price. Opening hours 8-22 was in my opinion too late to open in the morning.

We wanted a luxury break,but this hotel wasn’t that. We have stayed in much cheaper places that offered considerably more. On arrival, they told us the restaurant was fully booked, although there were very few people there. They couldn’t offer any bar snacks, or room service. We were forced to leave the hotel to find somewhere to eat. One of the main reasons for choosing this hotel was the pool offered on the website. There is an extra charge of 17€ per person per day. This was not clear on the website. We felt misled. Children are given a very limited time to use the pool. This coincided with meal time and then bedtime. Especially as we had to venture out to find somewhere to eat. The hotel was VERY tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. Chair legs were broken, the carpets were ripped, the skirting boards etc damaged. Paint was peeling everywhere. A superior room was not particularly superior. The bathroom was nice, but the mattress on the bed was sagging in many places. The room was clean, but there were plenty of areas that needed repainting. The selection of food at breakfast was good and catered for a variety of tastes. It was child friendly. However, it seemed to be understaffed and there were no mugs, or glasses. Nobody was around to ask, so guests were searching in the cupboards for something to use to get a drink. The machines were very temperamental and they were out of service a lot of the time. There were no black teabags on offer. Location was good, but otherwise a very disappointing stay.

Positives. The hotel upon driving up to the entrance all looked lovely and promising of a very good hotel and upon entrance into hotel all looks really uptogether mdern and staff were friendly. The room was ok also great size and smart t.v good job as no channels were working so netflix it was. Bed comfortable pillows axtremely comfortable. Negatives Reataurant was closed for 2days of my stay they advertise great dining here but closed no comunictaion to let me know this very poor. No snack foods or any bite size foods to offer at all extremely poor service here. Breakfast very poor choices of food generally not a great deal of food on offer. Nobody at the bar serving drinks had to ask reception to call someone everytime very poor clearly understaffed.

Not a good stay. This hotel is a 3 star in my book not 5 star quality at all. Bath stopper was broken, the sink tap was loose. Not much or no pressure on the water, so forget washing your hair. The rooms have a seating area and sleep area but only the seating area has airco. Dirty ventilation grille in the bathroom. Loose floor planks. Unfriendly and not helpfull bartender... and so on...

Booked this hotel in May for the Belgian Grand Prix, hotel decided to cancel on me 3 months later once all of the local hotels to the circuit were sold out. They offered me another hotel 80 miles away which would take 3/4 hours to reach spa using public transport Avoid at all costs if you don’t want your booking cancelled a few months down the line

Staff very polite, friendly and available at any moment Bedroom comfortable and clean Spa center offers quiet ambiance (we were there on Sunday around 9am) but the swimming pool is designed for maximum 4 people at the same time

Hotel was a last minute rest stop on the way to Dunkerque from Slovenia towing the Irish team 420 Sailing Dinghies. The hotel was perfect with a large carpark. I really like the setting and the blend between old and new was very appealing.

Could be so much better with some small changes. Everything is extra, wellness stuff like sauna etc all charged extra ££. Parking directions poor. Lovely looking hotel that just needs a bit of love to bring it up to standard.
