Boho Rooms Sliema

This is my first negative feedback ever that I posted online regarding any accommodation but I have to do it for the good of future guests. If you come here for 2 or 4 nights I am sure you will not notice any problem and you will enjoy your stay. The problem will only be felt by people who decide to stay for a longer time. I am sure that is why this guesthouse has so many positive comments. I spent here 9 out of 31 booked days. I chose this accommodation because of the good reviews but on the first day it turned out that this is far from the truth. After arrival I noticed that the door and the windows in the room, and walls in the bathroom were full of damp and mold. As I'm not a person who likes to complain, I removed the mold myself from the window frames, doors and floor as I meant to stay for a whole month. I think that if Malta has high humidity level the host should take more care of cleanliness and remove the mold before the guests arrive. In the bathroom there was information to open the window after showering which I did every time but it did not help much to remove the damp. Additionally, the bathroom was very cold and without any heating, so going there in the morning was a challenge. The room itself has heating but even after using it on the max strength for a longer time, the room was still not warm enough (max 20 degrees). The most important thing is that in the winter season, it is impossible to use common areas such as the living room, kitchen and dining room because all windows and doors in the whole guesthouse are permanently opened, even at night or when it rains. The host keeps them open to keep the areas aired because of the humidity and she doesn't allow to close them (the photos attached). The temperature in these areas during the whole day was 14 degrees only. The walls in these rooms are also covered in mould (I attached photos). Moreover, during check-in, the female host said that towels can be changed on request for free and they can sweep the floor if needed. After 7 days of stay, for the first time, I decided to ask for the towel change and to sweep the floor via chat as the owners were never present after 11am. I would happily sweep the floors myself if only a floor brush was available. She agreed to do it the next morning but never did. I would like to point out that for my whole stay the towels or the bed linen were never changed even though the host promised to do this after 7 days (she confirmed it on the chat). The floor was also never swept during my stay. The room and the courtyard doesn't have access to sunlight in the winter at all, and despite using the heater, the towels and clothes were always damp. I asked the female host if I can hang them on the roof terrace because the roof terrace is the only place in the whole house with direct sunlight and is locked for the guests. Don't bother informing the host about this, because you will get an answer that they "can't control the humidity". I think that if Malta has high humidity level you should take more care of cleanliness and it would be enough to wipe damp places to remove the mold before the guests arrive. There was no information about extra costs in the listing at all, but when I asked about the washing machine, the host said that it costs €10 because I paid "very little" for the stay (I paid nearly €600) and she said that I shouldn't expect it to be included in the price. I don't hide the fact that the washing mashine was very important to me during such a long stay. When I showed my dissatisfaction with having to pay for something that was included as per listing, the host immediately suggested relocation and she said that she already asked Airbnb to find something else for me. It looked like they wanted to get rid off guests who showed any dissatisfaction, rather than focus on solving the problems. I reported this to Airbnb myself and received an immediate refund for the remaining 21 days. The very next day, I left this accommodation after finding myself an entire apartment for a similar price with a private kitchen and bathroom, including a washing machine. Similar price but much higher standard. Don't be fooled by big discounts for longer stays which they offer. Accommodation here is not even worth €20 per night. I do not recommend this place. I give 2 stars only because of the location.

Beautiful old house converted into a really cute friendly guest house with private bathrooms. Really well located by the ferries that take you to comino, valletta, gozo etc and centrally located for restaurants and bars if that’s your desire.

Location strategica a 2 minuti a piedi dall' imbarco per Gozo e Comino. Lungomare a due passi, ristoranti, bar, negozi. Casa caratteristica maltese, stanza ampia con bagno e condizionatore. Al piano di sotto grande spazio con cucina angolo cottura e frigorifero. Piccolo spazio esterno comodo. La notte purtroppo chi era di fronte urlava e parlava senza pensare che le persone dormono, purtroppo l'ignoranza è sempre dietro l'angolo

Très joli maison idéalement située proche des arrêts de bus Sliema ferries qui permettent de rejoindre en bus les 4 coins de l'île facilement Nous sommes restés une semaine, nous avions la chambre 6 tout en haut et très spacieuse Après avoir lu les autres commentaires, en effet on entend les bruits de la ville et l'eau qui coule dans les tuyaux, mais cela ne nous as pas dérangé plus que ça Merci a Marianna pour son accueil et son aide

L’emplacement est top, mais ne vous attendez pas à un accueil , ma clef était dans une boite à clef. Pas de chichi ici, chambre propre, pas de gel douche ou shampoing, prévoir le vôtre. Je n’ai pas profité de l’espace en sous sol , bien aménagé si vous souhaitez manger sur place. L’inconvénient le bruit incessant de la chasse d’eau du dessus, odeur d’humidité dans la douche, et on entend la cliente du dessus tousser. Bien pour une ou deux nuits. Paiement cash la deuxième nuit.
