What a fantastic stay. Firstly the hotel has been renovated beautifully our superior room was great with everything you could need for a great stay. Secondly we stayed half board and both breakfast and dinner buffets were spot on. Great selection at both with regional and international cuisine. Third and finally the service levels were exceptional throughout the best I've ever experienced at a hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone whether it be the concierge, a waiter or room service all exceptional. Will 100% return to this hotel

The hotel has many lovely qualities but I would not return. Pros - Everyone I spoke to at reception was lovely and polite. Very clean. Great room size with bath and shower. Cons - noise!!! The road outside is so loud you cannot sit and enjoy time on your balcony. This is traffic and construction work. Cost of food - very over priced - we didn’t eat here so cannot comment on quality. My main issue was the pool area. It’s beautiful to look at and the pool itself is a lovely temperature. It is over the road from the hotel which I didn’t love and we felt the staff there didn’t treat us as well as ‘paying guests’ who had paid a daily rate to use the pool. This isn’t run by the hotel and that was the issue. Service was poor and we got really fed up with being ignored. If we went again I would choose a cheaper hotel and go to the lido down the road which you pay to enter for the day.

The Fortina is in a great location in Sliema, easy access to public transport - ferries over to Valletta are a 2 minute walk away. Along with busses going everywhere across Malta. It's a really nice walk from here to St Julian's bay. The view is amazing, we took a full sea view, which offered the best view over the city. The bed is enormous and the bathroom was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was so good! Fresh fish options, nice bread options, English breakfasts along with fruit, and Maltese pastries. They also had a chef who would cook up omelettes etc. I found the waitresses at breakfast were really lovely too, couldn't do more for you and would try to remember your coffee orders each morning. All the staff at the Fortina were really great, and made us feel so welcome and at home. I would love to go back to Malta and would definitely book this hotel again.

We stayed for 5 nights in April, Hotel was amazing, location perfect …the staff were outstanding. We found the reception staff without exception very friendly , professional and helpful. The room was 5 star…a mention to Julie who was housekeeping and so friendly and very proficient. We had an amazing stay and plan to return.

This is a lovely hotel in a very convenient position for access to Sliema and all the ferries to Valetta and Gozo. The rooms are large and airy and have everything you would require, hair dryer, kettle, coffee machine, robes and slippers,iron and ironing board toilettries etc. Fresh towels when requested and cleaned daily, The breakfasts are lovely with a wide choice to suit all tastes. We ate in all the restaurants on site though two don't actually belong to the hotel, and all were good. Though we didn't use the pool it looked lovely with lots of very nice sunbeds, a spa and indoor pool are also available.All the staff are lovely, polite and helpful, can't fault it.
