Hotel Punta

We went as a couple through Jet2 for nine nights in September 2024. We were a bit concerned before going as some of the reviews were highly negative, but overall we had a really lovely stay here. The hotel is clean with a nice pool and pool area, there was plenty of food to eat (my partner is vegetarian and he found numerous options available to him each night). The staff were always courteous to us and there was someone available 24/7 at reception. We never walked into town but instead hired a car which was around €100 for the period we were staying for. I would recommend this and there is free parking available outside the hotel. Be minded that the road down to get into town/the airport is very narrow so if you are uncomfortable with driving on country lanes this may not be as good an option for you! The location is lovely - because of where it is situated you can see Skiathos town clearly from the hotel, and you can see the hotel as you land. Relatedly, the hotel is under the flight path for the hotel but the noise was never disturbing. I would recommend this hotel if you do not expect luxury but would enjoy a clean, quiet and comfortable place to rest your head after exploring the island.

POSITIVES The location of the hotel is great. The views are amazing. The rooms are clean and overlook the pool. They are cleaned daily. There is a fridge in the room and air con which is free. The safe has a refundable deposit payable of €50. Beach towels are available to hire at €20 per 2 for the week and changed every 2days. Seville on reception was very helpful, very knowledgeable and efficient. NEGATIVES Not a 4 star hotel. Food is ok. But it’s all prepared and waiting as you arrive in the restaurant. It’s noticeably warm, definitely not hot. If you are a meat eater you will be ok. As a vegetarian it wasn’t great. One day my choice was mashed potato, chips/ aubergine. The restaurant is open from 8am to 10:30 for breakfast. Dinner is not served until 8pm to 10pm. This is very late and not suitable for anyone to eat that late. The desserts were non existent, you might be lucky to have ice cream every other day! The food (that you pay for) at lunch time is of course better! The pizza we had on our first day was great and thankfully we shared as we couldn’t have eaten a whole one each. Drinks are pricier than in town. There is a notice in the hall asking that you don’t take anything into the hotel they hasn’t been purchased there! No-one takes any notice of that. In each room there is a notice saying that if there is damage there are penalties to pay. This is not a hood thing to have in the room! It’s a very negative thing. They will ask for your credit card details when you arrive! They advertise a private beach. This is nit worth the effort. It’s full if broken sun beds and a bin full if rubbish ( that visitors are asked to take back to the hotel) but don’t. Other useful info There is a free shuttle bus at 10:30am / 4:05pm and 7.05pm to the town. Book your spaces each day on reception. Return from town at 4:00pm and 7:00pm So, if you want to eat out you will need to get a taxi back for €10. Buses to get to beaches are very easy. They pretty much go from town every 15 minutes. It’s €3 per person to Koukounaries beach from Skiathos town. You could get a water taxi at €6 each. Each bus stop is numbered starting at 0 for Skiathos port to 26 Koukounaries. You can walk from the hotel to town in around 35 to 40 minutes. While there are negatives we would stay here again because of the location, pool area, cleanliness. But you have to basically throw away the fact that you wouldn’t eat an evening meal. They would be better off offering B&B only.

Hotel was okay at best certainly not a 4* rooms where clean. We had booked a double with Seaview and got a triple with pool view asked for a change but, was point blank refused. the 3rd bed was lower and had a wooden surround which left out legs bruised Everytime we walked past.The terrace was just a step to be fair. The shower was tiny and pretty non functional as was the WiFi. Wanted full card details which they said they kept for a month when you are only there for a week. Food wasn't very good never any desert or ice cream left. There was a huge list for what you would pay for any damages and a sign saying 500 euros fine for bringing anything into the hotel from the shops. The pool area was nice and bar food was lovely as where the people running it. Beach was hard to access and harder to get back and the sun beds had seen better days. The view was beautiful, the walk to the port was manageable but, couldn't walk back as too steep. Was charged 49 euros in tax 😬 when checking out. I feel at sometime it was probably a beautiful hotel it just needs some TLC and a decent chef

Hotel chose because of its location, away from the town, amazing views across skiathos bay but unfortunately the peace and quiet was spoiled by the bar’s music playing over the pool area. We couldn’t understand why the beautiful quiet scenery of Skiathos bay was ruined with unnecessary pop music. It wasn’t even Greek ! If we wanted pop music we would have stayed in Skiathos town. Please Xenia stop this music spoiling your hotel.

Hotel punta is an absolute gem of a place 😍 It's spotlessly clean, maid service every day. The pool area has a bar, lots of shaded areas, plenty of sunbeds and a birds eye view of the planes landing. The views from the balcony are absolutely stunning. The staff on reception are amazing. Very attentive and went above and beyond for us when our TUI bus didn't arrive to take us on our trip. It's a 15 minute walk to the end of the runway to watch the planes (amazing!) and a further 10 mins to the town. €10-12 for a taxi from the hotel. Or they have a great little minibus free to town 3 times a day. Would we stay here again? ABSOLUTELY!!! 💯%

What a fantastic 2 week stay at the punta hotel Xenia the owner is the loveliest lady and even brought us a lovely departing gift ! What an absolute pleasure nothing was too much trouble food was lovely and really good choice at mealtimes well worth the half board option. Pool bar food was delicious (best pizza I’ve tasted) polina and vassilis at the bar were so much fun and such a lovely couple adding such a friendly fresh vibe to the hotel everyone was so friendly the little private beach was a short walk but downhill so getting back up is hard in the heat I would suggest am if going down there. lovely Greek night with dancing once a week really well organized rooms perfectly clean fresh towels and bins emptied every single day free shuttle into town several times a day which was really handy plenty of taxis to come back if you have a late one in town overall I would definitely recommend the hotel and will definitely be back ❤️🇬🇷
