Check in with Freek was exceptional as far as Hilton’s go. As Diamond members we were appreciated from arrival. But that’s where the service ended and the lack of a decent management came apparent. From the front desk, to Housekeeping, to the bar and even breakfast. Service was lacking and at times some people were not trained at all for their job! As we complained we were given coupons for a free drink of their choice but the service at the bar was soooooo hit and miss you tried to stay away. When I asked to speak to a manager k was told the manager was leaving the next week which is a good thing. Just hope the incoming manager actually does their job and train employees. 1. For every day you skip housekeeping you get a coupon for the bar/restaurant worth 7.50€. If there are two of you you get two coupons which is fair and generous as a two drinks at the bar cost much more than 7.50€. But wait after a couple of days we were informed it was only 1 coupon. The staff were not instructed properly and were giving out two coupons instead of one. There are many hotels in the Netherlands and Belgium that do this and they always credit you enough for two drinks. This hotel did not! We ask for housekeeping on day 5 of our 8 night stay and ask for bed linen change. Nothing was done. No sweeping nothing. That is after asking housekeepers directly. When we ask why you didn’t do what we asked they responded only change sheets on every third day, so we would have to wait for day 6. If we wanted them done now it would be 20€ extra. After a decent argument with housekeeping the manager of housekeeping said they would do it! What a joke! The hotel should offer 10€ credit for no housekeeping relative to their cost of changing the sheets and other hotels. The bar. We went in and ordered a Belgium beer and a burger . The beer I order they didn’t have so the lady tending the bar poured a different beer to into the beer glass of what I ordered and served it to me. When I tried it I told her this was not the beer I ordered and she confessed to pouring me a Dutch beer that cost 4.50€ instead of my 6.50€ Belgium beer. When she poured me another beer she could find the proper glass and just poured it in the a pils glass. She apologized and said she wasn’t trained at all to be at the bar. The burger was overcooked. Desserts were underwhelming. This place has great potential but is let down by management that has not trained most employees and has none informed. Let us hope new management gets it done otherwise this will be your normal disappointment of a Hilton hotel. The rooms vary greatly. They can be quirky as was our suite. Not enough hooks for towels. Tv only for the bedroom. Windows can be small! Rooms on the 2nd floor had smaller windows than that in the 1st. Also facing the courtyard/bar terrace they can be small.
