Very disappointed with my stay at The Scarlet. The worst thing was that the room did not have any windows. The staff pointed out that this was stated on the booking platform. I checked on Trip.com and indeed it is stated in fine print that “Some rooms have windows”. I think this is unacceptable for “tourist-class” hotels, unless Scarlet thinks of itself as a budget/hourly hotel like Hotel81? In tourist-class hotels, the lack of windows is an anomaly and is usually highlighted in the room category name directly, e.g. “Deluxe Queen Room (No Windows)”. The room was also very old and cramped. The TV view is partially obstructed when lying in bed. There’s also a ridiculous “skylight” that looks makeshift and resembles something that could be found in a slum? See pictures. The Scarlet is way past it’s prime and should either close for a complete rebuild or just reposition yourself as a budget hotel.

The location is very good,2nd time visit this hotel,the only thing can improve is the car parking.

location is ok... room cleaning is terrible.. left a dirty towel one day.. always forgot to leave a bath robe... and one time left no tooth brush.. coffee.. and etc.. had to make a call everytime to bring up what should be there.. Air condditioning is always ON.. no way to turn it off or lower it.. it was freezing.. Its an old hotel.. so it has its charm.. but for its price.. it is OK...

The Scarlet hotel is in a fantastic location, just next to the “maxwells” MRT which allows you to get anywhere in the city at ease. Located next to Chinatown and a lively restaurant and bar area. Hotel and staff are great and great for a short stay. Gym was good for the size of hotel, unfortunately we never made it to the rooftop bar.

Still an amazing place to stay, and amazing location too. One of the few places that have a decent complimentary mini bar. Room itself is very large, the bed is super comfortable and the TV is a smart TV, so can play your own content. Overall, a great experience yet again. We'll definitely be back!

Love the location and the rooms, staff are very friendly

The hotel location is very good, near to Chinatown area. It is very convenient. Many restaurants around the hotel. Coffeeshops and even hawker center within walking distance. Hotel service consider not bad. Check in take about 10min as i think they are doing last min check on our room. The hotel lobby furniture look grand. Very suitable for taking photos. The room is very clean. Because of promotion, everything in the mini-bar is free. They still provide a bottle of red wine. My wife really enjoy the bathtub while drinking the red wine. There is lots of movie to see while resting on the bed. The bed is king size bed, very comfortable. The pillow is good, not like other hotel soft soft type kind. Aircon temperature can be adjust in room. Overall this is a good and nice hotel. Price is very reasonable.

My Japanese frens had an enjoyable n very pleasant stay at this htl. Clean and neat. The staff here were polite and accomodating too. Service on point! The foc mini bar with Italian red wine(Chianti) given on Day 1and 2 cans of beer plus titbits replenished everyday is definitely a great bonus to the unforgettable stay. My Jap frens went home with fond memories!

Love the new TV with MCEC functionality and Netflix, with 60FPS, watching experience is terrific

This was the second time that I'm staying at The Scarlet Hotel. Of course the this time round the price and deal were not as good as last year but I fully understand as tourism is back. The reason that I rebooked The Scarlet Hotel was because recently I read about the reopening of the rooftop bar, therefore decided to take the opportunity to check it out. But it was a an disappointment because there was a event on that night and the whole place was very crowded and noisy and we didn't have a chance to explore the area and the area that we were allocated doesn't have any view. But the service provided by the staff was excellent, he did his best to find us a seat and ensure that we do feel comfortable. This time round the room that I was allocated was close to the end of the corridor and was a bit disappointed that there is no wooden beams and natural skylight. I do wonder is it a must to request if I want that. Overall the service provided by The Scarlet is still the best. Simply love the warm and helpfulness of all level of staff. As usual, I'm been walked to the door by the staff who has process my checkout. So far this is the one hotel that did that! I don't even get this from any of the 5 star hotels.

Check in staff is very friendly. We got upgraded to executive room with balcony which comes with a free bottle of red wine and minibar. Room is abit small but service make it up. Would stay there again.

Love the location and the room is spacious. Nearby also got lots of nice restaurants. China Town is nearby too. We have a great walk in the China Town after the nice dinmer.
