We stopped in Siem Reap to go and visit Angkor Wat for the fourth time (never enough!) and chose to stay at this small hotel after reading other peole's reviews on TA . Rooms are quite big, each comes with a nice outside patio, big bathroom, nice shower, separate w.c., not many drawers and/or space for clothes, a safe, comfortable bed but air con blowing directly on your face when you lie down. Breakfast sufficient but not plentiful, just enough for europeans , may be not not for americans. There is a nice big terrace on the top floor where we could enjoy happy hours and/or dinner. Staff very kind and helpful, pity that none is fluent in english so you have to make sure that they understand what you say, and this is the main drawback we found not only in this hotel but almost everywhere else. There is a small swimming pool which we did not use. The whole place is well kept and very clean besides the fact that it is right in th centre of town, near the market and many places of interest. All in all La Riviere is a good compromise where you certainly get what you pay for and this is the reason why, in my opinion, they they deserve a 4 star.
