This hotel is located just by the Shanklin beach and it’s handy for the Shanklin railway station. The staff is really friendly and breakfast is pretty good. More importantly, the room is cozy and comfy with beautiful seaside views. Highly recommend.

A wonderful two night stay at The Clifton, Shanklin. Welcoming and friendly staff coupled with a comfortable room and stunning view. Good breakfast that could be taken in the dining room, conservatory or garden (weather permitting). Will definitely book the hotel again when we next return to the Island.

We have just had a very comfortable homely stay at this superbly positioned hotel on the clifftop with uninterrupted sea views. The breakfast is legendary, served outside on the veranda alongside an idyllic little garden. The suite was comfortable and well serviced and the staff were polite and helpful. We enjoyed exchanges with Layla and Den, the latter being a useful advisor on the Island’s many amenities. It’s a handy place to stay being a short ( but challenging ) steep walk down to a perfect swimming beach, and one can always climb back up for £1 in the lift complete with its own ride-on ticket conductor ! It’s easy to reach anywhere on the island from this location and it’s a delight to return to the homely comfort and sundowners in the garden of the Clifton Hotel. We’ll be back. That’s for sure.

all really good 10/10 very clean, great breakfast menu and fresh orange juice, very good location for the old village and a short walk down to the beachand sea front pubs etc.. The staff were all very friendly. I would definately stay again and recommened it

As always the very best experience; very friendly and helpful staff, absolutely the best location on the cliff in beautiful Shanklin, generous breakfast menu, nice rooms, breathtaking seaview, lovely tea-garden, cosy bar (don’t forget to try the local Mermaid’s pink gin). My favourite home from home. Can’t wait to return.

We had a warm welcome, the administration was excellent as was the staff, The breakfasts were outstanding for their quality and variety. There was plenty of spaces to relax in, inside and outside in the gardens. Our "Bay view" room, overlooked Shanklin bay. Easy access to the cliff top walk an d old Shanklin village. Off road parking was a definite plus Looking forward tour next visit J and J {Hampshire)

Visited the Isle of Wight many many times over many years and lived here for 7 years, but never stayed at the Clifton Hotel. What a pleasure it was for our weeklong break. The breakfasts were first class, as was the service we were given. This is a happy place to be with all of the staff happy, chatty, pleasant, and all want to make a positive impact with the guests. The sea view from our bedroom was full 180 degree uninterupted, and the gardens were beautiful and well maintained. We will definitely be back to the island as we love holidays there but we will also definitely be back at the Clifton because the whole experience was so uplifting which is what we really needed from our break. Massive thank you to all of the staff who work so hard.

A fantastic hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Rooms and facilities exceeded expectations. Breakfasts excellent as were the evening meal we had. Overall deserves 11 out of 10 🙂.
