Hotel Royal Blue

Although this is not by any means an upscale hotel, it is Beachfront, has a bar, has great views and is perfectly located at the bridge to the North side and on the beach at the beginning of the ***** of all the awesome beach bar/restaurants. The rooms are clean, roomy, and furnished eclectically. I wanted a piece in our room this time. (Not for sale). You can hear tv in another room if they have it loud, but not people talking.

Check in was easy as usual but many downfalls, biggest one is the bathroom. The water never seemed to get hot but then smelled terrible of wet mildew smell. Other hotels in Belize do not have that. Only received two bath towels. Hotel is about a 20 min walk from water taxi and the streets are very packed with golf carts and cars speeding by as you walk on the street.

The hotel has a nice location by the water, though it's not used as a beach and on the ground floor there's a restaurant with decent food and sometimes loud crowds. The first room I was given was noisy and stuffy and the helpful receptionist changed my room the next day. They offer a pick-up and a drop-off service with a golf cart when you arrive and depart, which is very helpful.

I leave 2 stars only because check-in was easy, the A/C worked, wifi was solid, no bugs or rodents, and a parking lot w/ ocean access out back. There's a nice view for sunrise on the 3rd story balcony, but san pedro is a tropical paradise & almost anywhere has an epic sunrise view Most website pictures I saw before booking are either photo-shopped or 10yrs old. This hotel has potential, but maintenence is seriously neglected. Don't expect any luxury, romantic, quiet, kid-friendly, or high tech. It's just a room, mini-fridge, microwave, tv, and lots of street noise at night and a karaoke bar next door that kept me up until 2am Room was not very clean, cracks in the walls, lights flicker, flooring coming apart, and everything was just worn out. Broken doors covered with plywood in hallways, sketchy stairs, ramdom appliances in common areas,and I literally had to shim some doors for my room & a neighbor during a windy night to get sleep! In san pedro on a dive trip traveling solo, I'd be embarrassed to bring a lady here. Book elsewhere even if more expensive- it'll be money well spent

The staff was super helpful if you ever need help or have any questions there always there to help. Hotel is in good area Close to the Fairy I had no problems.

People always make a place. These guys are great. Great views. Beach front bar and restaurant.

Our reservation was not logged in. The day we checked in the front desk told us that there are no rooms available. The front desk didn't logged out reservation and didn't even cared or had no sympathy as to where we would be sleeping that night. Front desk had the worst attitude.

The hotel was good! The rate was low compared to many others so i felt it was a great value. Could do with some shelves in the bathroom, even stick-on type in the shower would be a simple improvement. Simon at the front desk was especially helpful. He carried my bike up and down the entry steps. This is not a hotel for those with mobility issues. Short stairs up from the street to the lobby. My room was on the third floor and no elevator as they are not at all common in San Pedro. That being said, i had no trouble at all. The A/C worked great! I saw some reviews which weren't very good. I think some people are being too fussy. The room wasn't perfect but it was ok for my needs and at the right price.

Highly affordable, with lovely balcony beach views.
