Townhouse Weisses Kreuz

I cannot recommend Townhouse Weisses Kreuz enough. This place is a hidden gem amongst all the incredible history and beauty of Salzburg. It’s tucked away at the base of the Fortress Hohensalzburg. It’s an amazing blend of rustic and modern architecture and yet so very European in its style and elegance. Our hosts, Claudia and Jorg, were beyond helpful and so gracious. They went through the history of the building and gave us many wonderful ideas on things to do in Salzburg. The hotel itself is like something out of a movie. The attention to detail and rustic furnishings are incredible ( many of the furnishings and decor are for sale in fact). The bedrooms are spacious and oh so comfortable. There’s a spa room with a steam bath, a garden out back, a very large lounge area with a bar - all of which look like they were straight out of an architectural design magazine. Townhouse Weisses Kreuz is located within walking distance of the heart of Salzburg. Museums, shops, restaurants - all very close by and so wonderfully historic - Salzburg does not disappoint. Please do yourself a favor and stay at Townhouse Weisses Kruez!

This boutique hotel is amazing. The hotel is a very brief walk (100 yards) from one of the main squares in the old part of the town. The service is impeccable and they are incredibly helpful. The concierge is fantastic. They always remembered our names, our favorite drinks and food and were on top of our travel plans. There are 6 rooms and we were in Room 5. The rooms were Scandinavian in style and very comfortable. Claudia and her sister did an amazing job in refinishing this building. There is a nice bar area with 24 hour access to drinks (honor system) and from that floor, you can walk out onto a patio garden where they serve breakfast. From the patio, you can see the fortress and a beer garden that is very popular. From room 5 you could see many of the spires in the old part of town.

We recently spent two days / nights in Salzburg and had reserved a Superior Room for both nights. We had seen it on the internet but the photos do not do the place justice - artful and skillfully (light handedly) pulled together with a lovely bar / relaxation area, wonderful garden area for drinks or breakfast and just a really aesthetic. Jörg (the Assistant Managing Director) gave us rock solid recommendations for restaurants and places to see and Claudia (the Managing Director) was very kind as well. It's clean and modern while being true to the 1,000+ year history of the building.
