Hotel Cala Font

This was my second visit to hotel Cala font and it was a great experience.The hotel is very clean and in an excellent location for a peaceful break away.The staff are very friendly and helpful.I travel with my young daughter and this is a nice safe place to go.I will definitely be back soon.

Visited July 2023. Great for the family. Rooms were clean, basic with a nice seaview from balcony especially at night. Food was ok…lots of options. Poolside bar had nice cocktails and snacks for the kids. Pool was well kept and entertaining - volleyball was great everyone got involved. Music was good. Kids loved it. Hotel shop had sliders and swimwear reasonably priced. Small local shop nearby for toiletries. A few restaurants nearby with good food very affordable.

We stayed here for a long weekend on a B and B basis. Lovely position overlooking the bay, worth taking a sea view room. Rooms bright and airy and very clean. Large bar area and cantina style restaurant, buffet presentation. Lovely walk to Salou taking a well defined path by the sea.

We really enjoyed our week here, it would have been 5 stars were it not for the position of the room, stuck at the back with little to no view to speak of. The food was pretty great, I’m now on a strict diet and the staff all lovely, given how many rude ungrateful people I watched them have deal with, the lady on duty by the restaurant door was so nice but the housekeepers were extra special and would always spruce the room up, change towels and make up the bed if we didn’t put the sign on the door, I think they’d be in every day if we’d let them We went to Salou and Cambrils separately using the public bus and loved going down to swim in the sea. I’d return in a heartbeat if promised a better view lol

This is a beautiful, super clean, well looked after hotel both inside and outside. The staff in all areas were super friendly and so helpful. The cleaner s did excellent job every day. So well staffed this hotel is best I have stayed in salou or anywhere else for that matter, The restaurant was run so very well. Food was excellent. Great choices everything fresh ans tasty. and the coffee was also lovely which I was impressed with as I found a lot of hotel restaurants I've been to their coffee s was not at all nice. The pool area was very large, so spotlessly cleaned every evening and early morning Cleaners always cleaning there, plenty of sunbeds and always well staffed. My only complaints was no sun on my balcony and no plugs beside bed to charge phone. The hotel is in lovely area. There is a beautiful bar , beautiful coffee served there, staffed all day very reasonable prices and play areas for children and teens. Next door overlooking the beach and sea is a beautiful bar called La Cala. Really lovely Generous drinks. Every evening its amazing to watch the sunset from there. The staff and manager so friendly and kind, it's so relaxing to sit there at any time. I would definitely return to this beautiful place and wonderful hotel. The hotel is situated on a steep bank with a lovely cove at the bottom. The sand is lovely and water is shallow for quite a distance out into the sea. There is one cafe/bar nearby. Parasols and sun loungers cost €10 each. The hotel lobby is decorated to a high standard. The first room we were given was unacceptable as it looked straight onto a mud wall and smelt terrible. I went back to reception and asked for another room and was told that there was no other room if I wanted an upgrade it would cost an extra €16 per day for pool view or €20 per day for sea view. I decided to pay for sea view but under protest. The cost was €140 total after complaining the next day I was refunded this by the manager along with an apology. Which is excellent customer service. The room we were given was decorated nice although needed more storage. Free safe and fridge along with great smelling toiletries a good touch. The patio door stuck badly and did not align up properly so if the wind got up the ceiling tiles in the bathroom all lifted up and dust / debris fell down into room just hope none of it was asbestos. The shower tray flooded when you put shower on and spilled onto floor making it dangerous. The TV only had 2 or 3 English channels. The cleaning of the hotel room was disappointing. The bedding wasn't changed all week and the shower tray neither plus the windows looked like they hadn't been touched in a long time. Outside table not wiped down neither was dressing table. The outdoor hallway carpet was filthy with dust collecting around the walls and bits of rubbish etc just left they must not have a vacuum. The entertainment was on a screen in lifts and around hotel but it was in Spanish and you were not given information in English or where it was held to be honest I never saw any apart from at night. Which comprised of either a Spanish singer or Spanish music to dance to. Very poor not even a hour for any children. Now my biggest gripe was the restaurant. It was understaffed and disorganised so it was chaos with people walking all over and items running out, and staff taking too long to clear tables. They had cereal with spoons then the milk at the other side of the room etc. The food was miss matched and bland quite disgusting . Chicken nuggets at breakfast! No cooked meat at lunch if you wanted a salad and very limited variety in sweets and main meals. If you want to upgrade to full board it cost €20 per person per day not worth it. We ended up eating out some nights. This hotel is classed as a 4* and tui had it as this but now it is advertised as a 3* by them which is more realistic, if the did something with the food and entertainment then yes I would give it 4*. I like the area but would not go back to this hotel which is a shame..
