Convenient location to airport, Santa Clause Village. Lots of nice hotel and activities can do in the resort. Love the room we had. Breakfast is Ok, but the best is the service, restaurant and activities ! I enjoy my time here a lot especially the room !

I recently had the privilege of staying at Apukka Resort in Rovaniemi, Finland, and it was undoubtedly the highlight of my Scandinavian journey. From the moment I arrived in this snowy wonderland, with daily temperatures around -7°C, to my cozy cabin room, everything about Apukka was simply amazing. Having to see the mesmerizing Northern Lights from my bed was a dream come true. The comfortable bed, warm water, and the delicious food served at the restaurant made each moment special. The view of the frozen lake was nothing short of magical; it felt like stepping into an AI painting turned real. Even in the cold, I had one of the best swing rides of my life with the view of the lake. As someone from warm and sunny Singapore, this escape to the cold was a unique and unforgettable experience. The reception team at Apukka was top-notch, and they even had a room ready for me when I arrived slightly earlier than check-in time, which was a great relief after my long journey from Copenhagen. But it wasn't just the accommodations and the views that made my stay exceptional. I also had the pleasure of experiencing a thrilling husky ride and learning about how these incredible dogs are trained from puppies to their role as working animals. The passion and knowledge of the guides who led this adventure were truly remarkable. The 'Meet the Reindeer' session was a delightful educational experience. I gained a newfound appreciation for these magnificent creatures and learned so much about their role in the local culture and environment. The guides who accompanied us during the husky and reindeer experiences were nothing short of amazing. Their expertise and enthusiasm added a whole new dimension to the trip. Apukka Resort delivered a magical and unforgettable experience. The comfortable bed, the regular appearance of the Northern Lights, the enriching encounters with huskies and reindeer, and the exceptional guides all contributed to making this trip one of the best times of my life. Good location. Standard breakfast. Pretty much self-service for checkin-in. Lots of activities to do or nice to walk around.

We absolutely adored our stay at Apukka. We were initially put off by the distance away from Rovaniemi, but the property has so many activities and is near a beautiful lake. Our igloo was gorgeous. The food at the on-site restaurants was amazing. The staff here are the highlight - they are so helpful and kind! Just make the booking!

To be the highlight and last stop of an 8 day trip to Finland, we had high expectations. Unfortunately the service and food let them down, which had been excellent elsewhere. We emailed ahead to ask if the cabin could be ready at 3pm to enjoy the daylight -no, it would be ready at 4pm. Fine. We arrived just before 4pm - it wasn't ready, we waited in reception and were told there had been an issue, couldn't say what, and asked if we wanted anything as 'compensation' - I suggested a glass of wine but was only offered a bar of chocolate. We waited an hour, it was now dark, and the cabin so cold, we slept in our clothes the first night. Not a good start. The next night the main restaurant had an event and was closed to guests. They opened the Kota instead. Good, looking forward to flame grilled salmon. No-just heat lamped. The beer was actually warmer than the food. The following day we had a takeaway from the restaurant, and an ice cold beer whilst I waited, both excellent. The cabin was now warm and cosy and the location stunning. I think we were unlucky, our cabin overlooked and the restaurant shut, but most disappointing was the lack of any meaningful apology after contacting the resort once we got home.
