Nice hotel for the short staying to explore Rome

Notre séjour s’est très bien passé. Le lieu est magnifique. Le personel (accueil, femme de ménage etc) est très gentil. Bon petit déjeuner. PS : Le matelas était toutefois un peu dur pour moi. Je sentais les lattes.

Pas de lobby ou de coin sympa lorsqu’il fait très chaud. La terrasse a une superbe vue mais trop exposée lors de fortes chaleurs. 2 distributeurs de boissons dans un couloir sombre en ´sous-sol’ Les chambres sont très propres et le personnel charmant.

Austere room and simple amenities, reflection of monastic Roman history. - No WIFI access in hotel room but could access the WIFI on the terrace. - NOT a central hotel. Need to use the Metro (10 mins away) to get to destinations like the Colosseum. - No working hairdryer so bring one. - Friendly reception staff are truly a credit to the hotel - Fantastic air conditioning - Included breakfast on the terrace with the price of the room which was satisfying. Note: croissants were nice but the bread was dry, meats & cheeses tasted like plastic. Coffee pleasant. Basic continental including cornflakes and fruit. - Water machine located outside supplying free sparkling & still water so bring a water bottle. - Terrace is the best part of the hotel. Lovely place to spend a warm evening after a busy day travelling. - Church is in centre of hotel. Beautiful place to visit.

Myself and my husband stayed here for 6 days just got home yesterday. A little nervous after reading so many mixed reviews so went with an open mind. Amazing building . Our room as many others state was very basic however it was very cosy with very comfy beds . A huge wardrobe with lots of storage, a safe a fridge. Overlooking the courtyard garden with beautiful views. Yes the walls are marked and could do with an update however the room was clean and changed daily with beds made and clean towels. Someone mentioned the walls being thin and being able to hear the people in the next room however we heard nothing and no-one and so other than the endless sirens outside (no fault of the hotel of course) it was really peaceful. ☺️ The lift was broken for the first 2 days of our stay which we were advised of so it didn’t come as a surprise and was fixed by day 3 . The roof terrace is a major plus and we saw some amazing sunsets from both our room and the roof terrace and the weather during our stay was gorgeous . Breakfast was ok. I quite like the bread, ham and cheese but my husband wasn’t fussed so he had the other options of the croissants and yoghurts etc. The staff were all lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly and chatty.

We never tried the breakfast but it was lovely to sit on the roof terrace at night, staff were lovely and the place was clean. However beds were maybe slightly too hard for us personally and the wifi didn’t reach our room nor the roof terrace. Facilities were okay nothing to write home about but it was cheap and cheerful does the job if your planning on spending very little time there. A couple of really cute cafes a 2 min walk away for quick breakfasts

Brilliant location but poor facilities. Basic items in the room didn’t work like the hair dryer, shower head and toilet seat. Beds were basic and hard.

Toiletries were insufficient. It's not senior citizens friendly. Too much to walk to reach the room.Also steps ..Buffet breakfast was very basic where we had to stand in a line...I didn't like this concept.No eggs served.We had to struggle with the lighting system..The reception staff was helpful.

We loved this hotel. So much history reflected in the building as it was a Monastery many years ago. Great for staying in Rome we thought. It's near a main road but well away from the entrance. Our room seemed huge. We had a lounge with huge windows looking towards the road and one to the side overlooking the gardens. Bedroom and bathroom bigger than most. The corridors are big. There is a lift that takes you to the top where breakfast is served,one part covered the other two open giving amazing views of the city. Plenty to eat for a Continental breakfast and they had tea!! Reception was inside the blue wooden door. Very helpful staff. There is a park and pretty gardens nearby on the way to the Metro with shops ,restaurants and coffee places. There was a nice stall that opened until late selling soft drinks ,crisps etc along the path back to the hotel. There was also a hot drinks,,cold drinks and snack machine at the end of one of corridors in the Monastery. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you to all the staff. Our stay was mid May for 6 nights.

The hotel maintains a traditional atmosphere, which adds to its charm. The staff is exceptionally supportive, assisting with taxi bookings and restaurant recommendations. Located away from the touristy areas, it offers good value and great food. The 10-minute walk to the metro station and 20-minute walk to major attractions make it convenient. Plus, the continental breakfast, including decaf coffee, is a nice touch. Staying in a 10th-century monastery provides a unique taste of Italy

After reading lots of mixed reviews, I had low expectations for Domus Sessoriana. However, we loved our stay. Room had everything you needed - basic but perfectly functional and had a TV (bring your own hairdryer though). Rooms were always extremely cool due to its nature as a stone building but aircon was available and we had a lovely view too. Staff were friendly too. Breakfast was perfectly edible but would have liked a greater selection (maybe some bacon and eggs) and sometimes pastries were a bit stale. However, eating this on the roof terrace more than made up for it. It’s only a 20 min walk from the colosseum and 35 minute walk from the trevi fountain - might bother some but we loved walking past the colosseum to get into central rome every day. Streets around us felt safe (there was a squatter’s residence up the road but never felt threatened) even at night and it was nice to see parts of Rome that weren’t entirely crowded with tourist attractions and people bumping into you every two minutes. Terrace at night was lovely too. Overall would stay again - just maybe wouldn’t get breakfast!

Really nice hotel. Quite basic but clean. Staff were lovely. Very friendly and extremely helpful. Good location. Would definitely stay here again.
