Hotelinho Urca Guest House

Our stay at Hotelinho Urca Guesthouse was lovely. Andreas is the owner, and he is very kind, knowledgable and interesting. Andreas was a very welcoming, helpful, available and gracious host. We had two units. We had the room with the view at the front - fantastic experience, plus one of the back rooms, also lovely, incredible to be so close to the Sugarloaf, right beside it. The breakfast was yummy and full of variety. The rooms were very clean. There is a rooftop He let us keep our luggage longer as we had a late day flight out. The location can't be beat if you are in Urca.

My brother and I stayed here for about five days and wish that we stayed longer. Andres was an amazing host, checking up on us daily, answering any questions that we had and giving us suggestions on where to visit in the city. The included breakfast was very good and filling. The best aspect of the guesthouse, for us, was the location. Urca was nice and quiet, but super beautiful. It is a few minutes walk away from Praia Vermelha and a coastal trail. Additionally the view from the terrace was unbeatable. We highly recommend staying at Hotelinho Urca and can't wait until we go back!

superb location, the view from the rooms and the terrace is fantastic. The sun sets in front of you with a magnificent backdrop of the Christ statue and down below the Rio bay. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The area is super safe as it is a "police base "area. We used Uber a lot and never felt unsafe. There is a convenience store next door. We'll be back!

If you want to live in a quite and safe part of Rio, Hotelinho is the place. Urca is also super central just a short uber ride away from Botafogo, Humita, Copacabana, Ipanema, Laranjeiras etc. I normally have a morning jog to Botafogo and back before a swim at Praia Vermelha, 10 min walk from the hotel. The hotel is run by Andreas from Germany who knows the city well. He speaks perfect English, português, and german. Breakfast is excellent with an amazing view to Corcovado.

I'm delinquent in writing this review since my boyfriend and I stayed at Hotelinho Urca back in January, but an excellent hotel deserves an excellent review. This was my first time staying anywhere in Rio that wasn't my grandma's house, but seeing as I was bringing my boyfriend this time, we wanted to have our own place. And what a place it was. From the excellent views from our room, which faced directly over Guanabara Bay and Corcovado (Big Jesus Mountain, for the uninitiated), to the delicious complimentary daily breakfast, from the relaxing pool on the roof of Hotelinho, to the incredible responsiveness of the hotel's owner, Andreas -- our stay was perfect. The neighborhood is safe, as well. There's a delicious cafe/boteco directly below selling fresh pastels (think Brazilian empanadas) and large format beers. At night, folks grab food and drink and sit along the mureta (little wall surrounding the bay) and watch the sun set over Corcovado. You can walk 15 minutes and get to two beaches (Praia Vermelha and Praia Urca), a bunch of delicious restaurants, multiple pharmacies, and a grocery store. You're a short walk from Rio Sul, a four-story mall, and a brief taxi ride from Copacabana. I almost DON'T want to share this review in the event you book the room I want to stay in next time! But seriously. Stay here. You will absolutely not regret it.

Toll gelegenes, nettes Hotel. Das Urcaviertel ist sehr sicher auch für abendliche Spaziergänge. Tolle Aussicht von der Dachterrasse auf die Bucht und die Christus Statue. Andreas ist ein super netter Gastgeber, der uns sehr geholfen hat uns zu orientieren und uns wertvolle Tipps gegeben hat. Hervorragendes Frühstück auf der Dachterrasse. Würden das wieder buchen.

Se você espera algo similar as fotos publicadas, melhor mudar o local.... A vista é bonita, contudo o quarto está entre espelunca e set de filme de terror, ao entrar no local havia uma quantidade considerável de baratas nas escadas, no quarto uma cortina fechava levemente as janelas, o banheiro é um chuveiro elétrico que possuía fiação com fita isolante fraca quase saindo (receita para encurtar a vida), colchão e ventilador da época que abriram o local (acredito que pelo menos 20 anos atrás), o ventilador do quarto basicamente pendurado por uns arames, que ao ser ligado, o mesmo quase caia, e o ar condicionado, esse não funcionava...

Teníamos reserva para una a habitación pequeña y donde no había mucha gente en el hotel, nos dieron una habitación mucho más grande, quedamos felices porque la vista era espectacular! Muy linda la decoración del lugar, además Pedro que nos recibió, es muy amable. La ubicación del lugar es muy buena, caminando llegas a Praia Vermelha y hay muchos taxis cerca.

Excelente servicio, personas muy amables, excelente ubicación y el lugar muy acogedor. Muy bueno para ir en pareja, en familia o con amigos. La vista, única! Tienes bus pasando en frente mismo, supermercado, farmacias, bares cerca!
