The Ixian Grand & All Suites

I can’t rave about this place enough. Perfect destination if you’re looking for a romantic couples holiday. The staff provided 5 start service throughout our stay and were super helpful. The hotel itself was gorgeous. We paid a little extra for a spa bath and beach view which I would 100% recommend doing. There was a good variety of food - especially good for picky eaters like myself. The drinks were good and the beach/pool cannot be beaten. I saw many people complain about there not being anything within walking distance of the hotel. However it is only a 20 minute taxi journey to the old town costing around 13 euro and is absolutely worth the trip out. I must say this hotel is probably the nicest i’ve ever been to and absolutely worth every penny

From the moment we arrived we were treated well and wowed by the spectacular foyer and welcoming reception area. The check in was smooth and we were very kindly assisted to our room by a very pleasant concierge who graciously declined our offer of a tip, saying that it wasn't needed. We arrived late at night, after the restaurants had closed but they provided sandwiches and drinks to satiate us overnight. The staff were very pleasant and always greeted us with a smile. The all inclusive buffet was extensive and varied, so you could try something different from the available selection each day. (NB: I think if you were staying longer than a week you might find the overall selection repeats and you could feel a little limited). The cocktail were good and plentiful as was the ever smiling service. Our booking in the a-la-carte restaurant was a very pleasant evening indeed. The food was very tasty good quality and elegantly presented. My wife enjoyed the full 'Fabulous' facial and the spa staff were extremely pleasant. Shout out to Evi and Ausra for the exceptional warmth and friendship they have shown to us too. The local buses were easy to navigate to nearby towns or places of interest and there were taxis available for those more specific places. I would certainly recommend this hotel if you would like to kick back and enjoy quality nightly poolside entertainment, a great ambience, beautiful scenery and a great eating and drinking experience.

I visited the Aegeo Spa for a massage. The spa fecility is beautiful, they have anazing products as well. My therapist was Mariana and she was absolutly amazing. She's noticed my problem areas and she has concentrated on them to ease my discomfort. I would deffinety recommend it to anyone.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of experiencing the massage session with Aggelos at Aegeo spas at The Ixian Grand Hotel, and I can confidently say it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. I highly recommended Aggelos to anyone looking for a skilled and compassionate massage therapist.

Firstly I would like to say that we enjoyed our stay at the Ixian Grand. We have travelled to many, probably more than 12+ 3* - 5* AI hotels in Europe, usually with tui. This year we chose Jet 2 who rated this hotel as 4.5* In our opinion this accommodation is a hotel of 2 halves. The swim up rooms with jacuzzi that face out to a sea view are definitely 5* especially as they can choose to eat all 3 daily meals in either of the 2 ala carte restaurants on site. However our garden room, although a reasonable size and bright and airy with a modern decent sized bathroom, good shower and efficient air can, bathrobes and slippers along with a comfy bed we can only rate as 3* Why? The room was stark, just painted white walls with no embellishment's of pictures, no throws etc on the bed to add interest to the decor and plain drab coloured curtains. The wardrobe space was insufficient for a 2 week stay with very few coat hangers and there were no drawers. The balcony was a solid construction so when sat down you could not see the garden area and it was overlooked by another balcony face on. Pigeons were roosting over the balcony and inevitably there was a lot of pigeon poo. The main dinning area is run efficiently so no long wait for a table, but once again I would only rate the food selection as 3* Why? At breakfast it was the usual you expect served and cooked well. But I could not see any omelettes being cooked to order, there were pieces of fruit available but no fresh fruit salad, it was tinned and the yoghurt was serve yourself from a bowl, no individual pots. The fruit juice was made from concentrate and can someone teach the waitress that the tea bag should be put in before the hot water. Lunch was Ok just a mini version of the evening meal, but there were no cold meats or tuna etc to make yourself a salad. Although there were pre made up salad's which are not to every British persons taste. At the evening meal you only get 1 choice of soup, albeit always very tasty, at a 4* we have always had 2 choices. Again no cold meats etc to make up a salad. The cheese board was very nice but there were no crackers or grapes. The desserts were predominately Greek, very very sweet and no cream etc just a selection of ice cream. The fruit was the same every evening just grab a piece or choose from pineapple , apple and kiwi slices. We got very bored with the food into our second week. The pool bar food are trying too hard, it was so laden with squirty cheese I felt sickly. The cocktails are poured pre made, the beer is gassy and flat and the wine is just about drinkable, all you expect from a 3* The area around the front of the hotel is Ok but venture out and it is very shabby, covered with litter and good luck crossing the main Rd to catch the bus into Rhodes. If you have taken the time to read this very long review We would just like to say we enjoyed our time at Ixian Grand, despite the above, mainly because we didn't pay a 4*price. Staff are fantastic, kind, caring and helpful. Food mainly very good however each night is themed but for instance on BBQ night there was only 1 BBQ dish but on fish night 90% of all main courses were fish. My partner is not fond of fish so caused problems. The spit roast food is always over cooked. The pastry chef really loves covering a lot of their sweets in syrup and sugar . Main flavours if ice cream but a hotel like the Ixian should have more modern flavours like salted caramel or coconut. The rooms very comfortable with great showers. The drinks in the mini fridge is with the hotels complements however there is nothing to tell you that in the room so you don't try it.

What makes the Ixian Grand & All suites 5* in my view ; 1) The location … having its own beach with ample free sunloungers and towels. 2) The spa … Excellent massages , pricey but worth it . Valentina is an adorable, friendly therapist , petite but can deliver a seriously powerful deep tissue massage . The products available to purchase at the spa are lush , deals to be done with multiple purchases so I maximised on the generosity from the lovely staff . 3) Adults only … I love children but going to an adults only hotel was super relaxing and peaceful . 4) Guest attention… everything is done for you ; drinks delivered to your sunbeds on request to lovely staff walking around taking orders or via app. Towels left on sunbeds at the end of the day get tidied away by staff. There are unobtrusive staff tidying and cleaning all day long . 5) Food & drink and daytime snacks … As a vegetarian, I ate extremely well everyday and could have been as healthy or feasted as I chose to be . Quality and variety were excellent . My companions were meat eaters and enjoyed the food all week . They are very much foodies and have travelled extensively and rated the food and drink ( non alcoholic) as excellent . Everyone expects great, clean rooms and guest areas … everywhere was of expected standard . The staff are a credit to the company ! Every single one . There were favourites but every member of staff works hard, makes you feel nothing is too much to ask. They are friendly and smiley , professional and attentive . If you need a relaxing escape having everything catered for then you really can’t go wrong with the Ixian Grand . My view ( looking out at the pools with the sea in the background ) was idyllic everyday and at anytime of the day or night . Thank you to all the staff at The Ixian Grand !

We have just arrived home from the Ixian Grand and what can I say! It was immaculate and we felt like royalty! All the staff were very kind and nothing was too much trouble at all! We had a swim up room and it was incredible! It was so nice to have the option of having our own pool right at our door! We want to say a special thank you to Maria and Jessica who were the waitresses at the door of the main buffet restaurant! They were there all day everyday and always had a big smile on their faces! They would always ensure that we were happy with our table each day. The buffet restaurant was very good with themed nights but they also had ‘plainer’ foods such as pizzas, chips, pasta and chicken, this seemed to be incase people didn’t like the themed nights and we were very grateful for this! The other restaurants were very very posh! (Something we are not too used to) but I cannot fault them at all all the staff were very frindly and always made sure we didn’t run out of drinks and explaining all the foods for us. The facilities of the hotel were very good with 3 different pools and the beach which was blocked off so it was only the hotel guests that had use to it! There were more than enough sun beds so you don’t have to rush down in the morning to secure one and the seating around the pools were very comfortable!

Amazing hotel and spa....highly recommend...staff so friendly...cleanliness of rooms top class..there is 3 restaurants so you can change it up food wise during your stay...the Mazu resturant's rib eye is amazing. They have loads of deck chairs on beach or near pool so always places. We booked spa for couples massage...Eva and Valentia were amazing and we were so relaxed after it....they have music after dinner by the pool so you can sit out in evening to relax and have few drinks.
