Virginia Family Resort

Unfortunately I can't say we were wowed by the whole experience. We booked for 5 guests, grandad, mum and 3 childen, names and ages of guests were provided at booking, when we got to the room there were only 4 beds, 4 towels and 4 glasses. It seemed like when it came to cleaning the room the cleaners were on a timer and did less that the bare minimum, eg bathroom mirror/ shower screen weren't cleaned at all, one day only 2 of the beds were made, glasses/ mugs were cleaned/ replaced very sporadically, under the beds were grim. A light bulb exploded one evening leaving shards of glass on the beds and floor, when I asked for a dustpan and brush in order to at least sweep the floor I was told that housekeeping would come and sort it, after waiting an hour I went back up to reception and reiterate that there were tired children who need to go to bed. When housekeeping eventually arrived she just brushed the beds off and quickly swept directly around the area, (I would have expected the bedding to be changed to avoid the risk of leaving a small shard of glass behind.) Baring in mind that it is a 'family' resort the 'shallow' pool was 60cm deep and unheated, the play area was very much a token effort, it has obviously recently been renewed but already has graffiti on part of the swing set and what I think is the roof off of part of climbing frame on the floor. The floor itself is very uneven (rubber tiles which have curled and very badly installed felt/ astronaut turf). The baby swings are too close to the floor so toddler feet are liable to be dragged across the floor every time they swing. 😔 Around the resort itself was kept clean and tidy and there were plenty of staff around keeping on top of dirty plates, glasses etc. The food was reasonable, mains/ breakfast a bit samey but a good enough spread,the deserts were lovely and much more varied. Evening meals were not particularly enjoyable, drinks were no longer self service and as the week went on we wee waiting longer and longer to get a drink at all, on 1 occasion we had eaten our mains amd deserts before our drinks order was taken. The ice cream was lovely and very much a favourite of the children. The staff were smiley and polite, a couple of the waitresses and reception staff were particularly nice towards the children although I was a bit dissapointed when one of the waitresses, who had taken a shine to the children and the children adored, tried to interact with them as we were leaving the restaurant one evening and was seemingly 'told off', she'd only tried to respond to the children saying hello. This place seems more interested in being an overnight stop off for coach sightseeing tours than a 'family friendly all inclusive resort' I'd say if you want to spend time as a family at the actual resort rather than using it as a base then there are sure to be better options around. If you just want a place to lay your head it may be OK. Location isn't bad and transportation is reasonably inexpensiv

Comfortable beds Good food plenty of choice Staff are fantastic.. Always a smile and nothing too much trouble. Evening entertainment is top class.. Tribute acts you would pay to see on stage! Pool areas are superb everything is spotless Can't fault the hotel

We just visited the hotel and we love it. Upon arrival they offered us a refreshing cocktail as we ware waiting a few minutes to check us in. Very friendly people treated us like a family. The buffet is really nice tasty food with plenty if choices. Very nice environment and we really enjoy it.

The service was immaculate as soon as we checked in, the staffs are all friendly from the receptionist, waiters/waitress to the cleaners, the room we had was very clean with a nice sea view. The food buffet in my opinion was 8/10 but that’s only because I wanted to try out different stuff everyday, however, the restaurant manager recommended us to try the rooftop “a la carte” Greek restaurant and we was not disappointed, the service was amazing and and the food was splendid. Overall this hotel is 10/10 and I would go back there again if I come to Rhodes.

Mixed reviews for this hotel but so glad we took the chance. Weather warm but Despite the cloud me and my daughter had a lovely relaxing week at this hotel. Only 20mins from airport. Check in was easy and our bags were taken to our room for us. Room was modern and clean and we had a view of the sea. All inclusive is what we expected, plenty of choice food but a lot the same each night. We ate out a couple of times just for a change. Beach nearby needs tidying up, we put this down to being out of season. Pool area is great, clean and plenty of beds. But the biggest disappointment was the pool was too cold to go in. Hotel location wasn’t too bad but needed a bus or taxi to get to any signs of life. Rhodes old town is lovely about it 10 mins in a taxi. Entertainment that came to the hotel was great. Singers, bands . But in-house entertainment definitely needs improving. Nothing after 9pm most nights. Animation team sat around most of the time in a group instead of planning evening activities or mingling with hotel guests. We did Karaoke one night which was great, but due to noise complaints i think the entertainment team were put off doing anything else for the rest of the week. Plugging a laptop in for background music isn’t great for a 4star hotel that advertises evening entertainment. What made our week were the staff all chatty and friendly. Biggest shout out goes to our favourite bar staff Rafael and Sevi. They knew our drink order from day 1 and we loved chatting to them while we were there. They work so hard and deserve a mention. William in the restaurant was hilarious too. Overall I would definitely recommend a week here.

Excellent resort to visit nice atmosphere at the bar with a lot of indertament restaurant was lovely with delicious Mediterranean food and the sweets been out of this world

I don't usually leave bad reviews but this hotel needs one. On the 3rd night at staying at this hotel I discovered a BED BUG infestation in the room (see pics) and asked to be moved rooms. When addressing this with the room manager, she said they had checked the room and it was fine. And there were no bed bugs.They then proceeded to put another family in the room for 1 night. The hotel completely gas lighted me and said there were no bed bugs and the room was fine, and said I was making it up. Despite them coming into the room with me and all 3 staff seeing the black nests on the mattress, the fecal matter and the bed bugs themselves. However I got back into the room, after they said the room was fine and took pictures of the bug infested mattress and the dead bugs on the floor. The pictures I took where after they told me the room was fine. They absolutely lied to me and treated me so bad, and never apologised. It took 3 days for me to actually get to speak to the hotel manger. I made him come into the room and see the situation with his own eyes, he still said, he didn't no what bed bugs look like so couldn't confirm. This was so frustrating as he runs a hotel and knows what a bed bugs is. The 2nd room that I spent 1 night in also had evidence of bed bugs and was filthy dirty under the beds and so I was moved to a 3rd room. The hotel took no responsibility and my family are smothered in bites which has completely ruined our holiday. They didn't apologise and didn't own up to it, and are putting other guest at risk. The beach located near the hotel is full of rubbish and broken glass, and you can't walk along the beach or spend down any time there. The nearest beach is a bus ride away. The food in the hotel is awful, and they have stray cats running around the food hall. There are mixed reviews about this hotel and I chose took a risk. I wish I didn't and I can honest sat this is the worst place I have ever stayed. The only good thing about this hotel, is the hospitality staff who are amazing and bar staff. They are very helpful, polite and friendly and I can not fault them

Excellent place to visit high recommend to our friends and family,the restaurant had a great selection of food loved salads and broccoli my favourite biggest selection in Cakes and pastries.Superior service from all departments.Rooms clean and bright
