Hotel Sonar Bangla Kolaghat

Staff behaviour is very good and very cooperative. Nice place for family outing. Specially for children.

It is one of the best places to stay for a quick weekend relaxation within 2 hr drive from kolkata.

First booked rooms at ground level but there were flies, mosquitoes and lizard in rooms so we paid extra for room upgradation and got rooms on first floor but there was also lizard. Bathroom fitting were not good. It was a total wattage of money.

The facility is excellent. The behaviour of the staff is great. I would like to go there again and again. The peaceful ambience is impeccable

Great place to stay, all amenities were awesome, staffs behaviour was also excellent. Location, food, ambience all are excellent.

We were unable to stay at sonar bangla on that day as guests were admitted to the hospital due to an emergency. When called the hotel and approached to reschedule the date. We did not want our money back. We just approached the hotel to reschedule. They literally denied and behaved very rude. So gave negative rating

Well maintained property and food was average. Room size is good ***** with river. The swimming pool, kid play area and park are well maintained.

We were given rooms at the farthest end of the property even when we did a early checkin and most of the rooms were ready. We felt the ac premium rooms which is their top category is less spacious than their cheaper ground floor rooms. Management behaviour is kind of arrogant and rude. Ofcourse doesnt know hospitality. Simple tawa roti was not available during dinner as they said they can only make tandoor rotis due to a lot of orders as hotel was running full. Rooms have lizards and cockroaches. Washroom fittings do not work properly. Acs are old and doesnt cool the room adequately. Nonveg items at breakfast were limited to egg and only egg. And yes liver fry. These guys are too poor to serve chicken sausages or anything. Just liver. Overall not recommended if cost per day is more than 6k. We spent 10k, including food. 6. 5k for the 4k worth room and rest for fooding. Food is little overcharged, which is still acceptable, but what is not acceptable is that room for 6. 5k.

Location is very nice. Lots of activities such a cycling, swimming, etc. Well mainatined. Rooms are being renovated, so some amenities had to be called for. Overall, god weekend trip. Food is very good. Friendly staff. Nice stay.
