McMenamins never dissapoints. The staff was very friendly. I had a king suite because I wanted my own bathroom. There was also a nice table and set of chairs in the bay window. Wonderful to sit at and look across at the old Henry Weinhard brewery and Powell's City of Books down the way. The nightstand had complimentary earplugs. I thought it might be for the city noise outside but it was actually for the HVAC system in the room that made rattling sounds. I had decided to leave my car with family. The parking garage is just a public parking garage down the street a ways. I didn't miss not having a car. It's a wonderful location. So many things to walk to! And within the building itself, there's much to do. I had a great brunch, went to a comedy show on a Friday night, had dinner with friends.

A wonderful place to stay for a downtown Portland getaway! The soaking pool was a great way to cap off each day, and the room was cozy and comfortable for us. Would absolutely recommend you stay here if you're looking for a great spot in the Pearl district!

Love the Crystal Hotel The whimsy, the artsy, the cool old architecture, the soaking pool, the customer service. We had a great time seeing Lukas Nelson at the Crystal Ballroom and it was a treat being steps away from a comfortable bed. But this part of downtown Portland wears us out. Too sad. Going to Edgefield next time.

Stayed for the Dope Lemon concert and the staff was amazing and upgraded our room w bathroom and scored a discount for going to show at Crystal ballroom! Our room looked out to the bustling city streets where you can people watch from your table. This hotel is great for those who love historical. The rooms are all decorated with a different theme, making it extra fun. Make sure to stop off in Al’s den to grab an espresso martini on way to basement to soak in the picture perfect soak pool. Highly recommend Hal’s Diner for a delicious filling breakfast.

I have nothing but incredible things to say about this place.
The vibes: immaculate. The cutest historic building.
The staff: SO wonderful. There was a tiny little hiccup with our check out time but they were so gracious and sweet.
The room: so cozy and cute. We loved wearing the robes provided while getting ready for our night.
Location: PERFECT everything we walked or needed was a 2 minute walk at most.
Cleanliness: SPOTLESS. If it wasn’t perfectly clean I would have walked right outta there. I hate even a mildly dirty hotel.
I was NERVOUS because the bathrooms are not located in the room but honestly didn’t even matter.
My only teeny tiny complaint is that the lighting is not ideal for doing your make up, especially in the fall when it gets dark outside earlier, but that obviously is no fault to the hotel.
I had the best girls weekend here. I cannot wait to bring my honey back ❤️❤️

I stayed here for our 1 night trip to see a show at the Crystal Ballroom. It was perfect! We arrived, unloaded, parked down the block and never moved the car once. We pre-gamed at Zeus—the restaurant downstairs. Our rooms had super comfy beds, cool music themed furnishings (my room Wrecking Ball had Emmylou Harris lyrics painted on the wall), a beautiful bed and chandelier and a handy sink, mirror and fluffy towels and bathrobes. They also provide earplugs if the intermittent street noise is a bother. We never to had to wait to use a bathroom (there are 4 on each floor), so not having one in the room was a non issue. After sipping some complimentary high quality Portland coffee in the lobby, I soaked in the soaking pool (a big long hot tub in the basement) to get myself in the proper mood for the drive home. The Crystal Hotel was excellent! I will be back.

I had fun at the Crystal; friendly and helpful staff, great bar and restaurant, very affordable, lots of good tips and orientation for this first time Portland visitor. I am anxious to return and have more fun,adventure, good food and exploration.
