location is remote but a quiet stay nonetheless restaurant food is so so

We got there super late coming in from delayed flight from JFK one night! We’d been cruising Mediterranean for 15 days and had already flown for 17 hours. I had a late check-in Standard room booked for my Sister and I who badly overpacked and had 5 heavy suitcases of various sizes. I chose Holiday Inn @ PDX as it was close by the Airport AND offered shuttle service! With the help of the Shuttle driver we managed to load everything but our carry-on luggage on the cart. Checked in and were given the key to our room on the 2nd Floor. Laboriously we made our way up to 2, managed to get our suitcases outta the elevator with the fast closing door and made it to our assigned room only to discover that the “key” didn’t work—no amount of re-insertion would convince it to, either; so my Sis went back down to the check-in desk and was given a key to a Suite on the 3rd Floor! We made our way up to that suite of rooms and were greeted with an exquisitely dark & dreary mostly dark brown but well appointed two room Suite. The rooms were clean, but the Holiday Inn in th location if VERY OLD, and they’ve done y their best to offer amenities to accommodate and make up for the aged old place. The Coffee Maker didn’t work, but everything else seemed to. The King Bed was super comfortable but the carpeting is old and unraveling and the living-room wall heater burned its way through a travel bag that help my brand new never worn Natica Puffy Jacket and the carrying bag! Didn’t know it was even on. Good place to crash for a night or two, but no longer. Bed was super!!

Clean room good service shady part of town

We were not told at check in that there is no daily cleaning of the room. The bathroom was not cleaned, the beds were not done. Sloppy conditions not expected from the previous known quality of the Holiday Inns. Very dissapointing.

Bad part of town pool is shut down and rooms weee dirty. Go stay at there sister hotel the embassy by Hilton.

We spent the night before an early flight. Luckily set the alarm on my phone also as we did not ever get the wake-up call we requested. the shuttle to the airport was fine, but we waited 45 minutes for the shuttle back to the hotel.

The hotel was fine. The shuttle, no so much. We waited an hour. The hotel comped us credit for dinner & breakfast, which were both very good.

Nice place to stay waiting to fly out of PDX…if only people would be quiet while walking down the hallway…1 am loud people

The hotel needs to be renovated. The train that passes every hour just outside my window was not in the brochure. The bed was comfortable.

The staff was really nice from the prompt and courteous shuttle driver to the front desk.in general hotels take a beating from travelers.the hallways walls and rooms really need a remodel.the hallways in particular looked really bad.

Used the hotel parking while we flew out of the country. Stayed in the hotel the night of our return. Everything was great including the hotel shuttle who waited for us when we arrived late at night.

Everything went smoothly but the early morning front desk person was not very personable and didn’t look at me when she did utter….put them in the basket…..referring to the keys….not everyone travels a lot and some times doesn’t know the protocol when coming and going…. The restaurant was very nice and the host was great

I was supposed to get a wake up call at 3am and a 3:40a shuttle as I had a 6a flight. I didn’t get my wake up call because they had it for 4a. It’s a good thing I also set my phone alarm! The front desk lady this morning had an attitude as well. The room was nice . The bed was comfortable
