I travel to Aberdeen several times a year as I still have family and friends in the city, but had stayed at hotels not far away. However, I wasn't impressed with my usual hotel as the air con hadn't worked in my past 3 visits and having the window open meant I was disturbed frequently by passing traffic and drunken guests and, on one occasion, a wedding party. Searching around, I thought I'd try here but was very apprehensive due to some of the reviews but, as you will read, I needn't have worried! My stay was fantastic and I think this will be my hotel of choice for future trips. Starting off with the negatives - it's in the middle of nowhere! Whilst it's just off of the city bypass, the hotel is located in a business park so there are no amenities around. The hotel does have limited food and drink available so you can always order room service if needed. The parking appears problematic - it's a small car park which only had a handful of free spaces when we arrived and we had to give the staff our car's registration number to park. I saw cars on the pavement and grass verge on the outskirts of the hotel and it's first come, first served. However, the hotel is a 5 mins walk from Craibstone Park and Ride which also has a number of Electric Car chargers (the rapid chargers have a 2 hours limit with a penalty for overstaying). If you can't get a space at the hotel, park here and move your car into the car park when you see a space is free'd up. I had booked using a well known booking site / app and checking in was simple enough although the printed form they gave me had some of my details in different areas (my surname was in the address field of the checking-in form and my telephone no was in the booking ref) and I was given 2 room cards. The rooms are located to the left of reception, with lifts before you reach a door for the ground floor rooms that requires your key card to open. I had my wife and daughter with me so had booked a family room - we got a double bed and a sofa bed so could have slept 4. The room had blackout curtains (which were great), kettle (with tea and coffee), iron (and board) and hairdryer in a small built in wardrobe where the door doubles as the door to the en-suite (if you slide open the wardrobe door, it closes the en-suite). There was air con (fantastically efficient - especially in this heat!) and the room was pretty quiet. I only heard a guest running in the corridor and then the security door slamming shut, once. The bed was very firm but the pillows were really soft and my head just about sunk through! However, the room and sheets were all very clean and the sofa bed was all made up and ready for us. There is no fridge, so no mini bar but also, it meant there was nowhere for me to keep my bottle of water cold. There's a small fitness centre on the 1st floor and a bar to the right side of reception (I think the reception staff also double up as bar tenders during the evening!). The dining room is further
