Trailer your rig to the trails or ride your SxS to Wolf Pen Gap or Fourche Mountain from the cabin. It is about a 15 minute ride by SxS to either trail system from the cabin. There are 3 “ No Trespassing” signs posted!There is a 10.00 fee per guest per night over 2 people.Pet fee is a 35.00 fee per dog, per stay and is NOT REFUNDABLE. It will be sent as a separate request for payment. Please let us know your dog breed before check in and how many dogs you will be bringing. All dogs must be crated when guests are not in cottage! A fenced pet play area allows your four legged friends to stretch their legs and enjoy the great outdoors. Take them for a walk to the creek where they can splash their paws or watch you fish or kayak. Please pick up after your dogs with doggy bags! Enjoy the privacy of the country without leaving the convenience of town. No through traffic and plenty of room to stretch out during your stay. Enjoy walks along paved road and beautiful views of neighboring horse farms. Fish the creek or enjoy a leisurely kayak trip downstream and back. A FISHING LICENSE IS REQUIRED TO FISH ON THE CREEK! The Cottage is located a few minutes from downtown Mena, where you can enjoy the privacy and beautiful views shared by Mena residents in this Ouachita Golf Course community. This 1 bedroom/1 bath STUDIO is equipped with all the comforts of home including a back covered patio and a SHARED16x20 deck outfitted with patio furniture and a BBQ grill. This deck includes outdoor lights and plenty of space to kick your feet up and relax at the end of a long day. Wood laminate flooring runs throughout the living areas where you will find a large common room with a king sized bed, a sleeper sofa, large TV with satellite programming, comfortable recliner, and a selection of books are available to enjoy during your stay. Kitchen appliances include a stove, full size refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker w/filters for the duration of your stay. Coffee not provided! BRING YOUR COFFEE OF CHOICE. In the cabinets you will find dishes, flatware for 8, and cooking utensils. Iron and ironing board are also provided. NO SMOKING OR VAPING INSIDE. Feel free to smoke outside on deck or patio. Please use ashtrays that are available. There is a fire pit by creek. Firewood can be purchased at Atwoods. Pack folding chairs and beach towels if planning on spending any time by creek. There is a green sign with address posted on a tree just past the driveway. If you reach mail box, you just missed the driveway on the right. PARKING: Please park to the left in front of the door to allow room for a second car to park to your right. KAYAKS & CREEK: There are 2 ORANGE kayaks and 1 yellow kayak, paddles, & adult life jackets available for use during your stay. The kayaks are for use ON OUR PROPERTY AND ARE NOT TO BE REMOVED FROM SITE! Guests assume all responsibility for use. All guests are required to wear life jackets while kayaking. The kayaks & life jackets are hanging from the backside of the deck. Generally, the creek flows slow enough that you can paddle upstream. After about 1/2 mile downstream there are some large rocks in the middle. This is a point where you will turn around or have arrangements made for pick up downstream. You cannot walk back. The creek is full of fish where the water gets deeper so feel free to bring your poles and tackle. OUR PROPERTY ACCESS: The area behind the deck to the creek is our property and extends East about 50 feet which is landmarked by a large burn pile. The D bar D farmhouse is a cozy, family-friendly house that is literally located on a family farm. Less than .25 miles down the road you will find an access point to enjoy the peaceful Ouachita river or drive a short 30 minutes to Wolf Pen Gap to ride ATVs or find Irons Fork Lake 6 miles away to take in nature and fish or watch the sunset from the farmhouse backyard.The farmhouse has a fully stocked kitchen when you first walk in, with a bar and stools instead of a dinning area. Close by is a coffee station with all the fixin's. The living room has a couch and a sofa with 4 recliners. There is a Roku TV where you can stream TV subscriptions, such as Netflix and Hulu, or there is a DVD and VCR player attached where we include family-friendly movies. Each bedroom comes with one bed, 2 of them have full sized beds and the third has a queen sized bed. Main area has a couch, recliners and room for an air bed. There is plenty of closet space in each room as well. Also the living room is spacious enough for a blow up bed for guests to bring along. Both bathrooms include a shower and the utility room has a fully functioning washer and dryer. Walk out the door and you have the option of a shaded patio with furniture, a fire pit and a charcoal grill. We also provide an outdoor dog pen for any large or outside dogs.Guests are able to have the whole house and yard to themselves. There is plenty of room to park several vehicles, trailers, and ATVs. There is also a river access about 1/4 mile down the road.Please note that this house is located on a working farm. Tractors and other farm equipment may be driving in front of the house. Cows are sometimes getting moved across the road to a different pasture, so you may even get to witness a real-life cattle drive!
