Front office and services staffs can be more pleasant.
Not sure if they understaff or tired . But they sometimes they not friendly. The guy who checked us in very nice but rest of stay, we don’t received friendly attitudes from the service nor front office staffs . The housekeeping lady so much helpful. The hotel are decent.

Very nice hotel with all of the amenieties needed for a calm and relaxing stay. Ste staff was very polite and helpful, the restaurant offered variety of food choices and a lot of extras like the ice cream machine. We enjoed the swimming pools, especially the one placed higher - it was sunny until the sunset and the bar next by was a really nice touch. Rooms are spacious and organized very well. Animation team was amazing and we ended up going for the evening show most of the evenings we had at this hotel. I will definitelly come back.

To start on the positive, the beds and pillows are super comfy and the hotel is clean. The food was acceptable, especially considering the amount of different nationalities they cater for. Not so good.....they claim the pool is heated, which is totally untrue. It is freezing! The children's pool is like an ice bath as well. The waiters in the restaurant are downright rude and really should work in hospitality and in general the same applies to the bar staff, with the exception of Araceli and Jonathon who were exceptional. The rest couldn't even manage a smile. All in all we still had a good holiday but we won't be returning to this hotel.

On arrival we found reception was very quickly to sort out our accommodation, The room was very clean neat & tidy tea coffee, safe and TV which didn’t have much in English channels, Restuarant very clean and tidy with all staff very attentive and helpful, food was superb and with a large variety of food, also with snack bar at side of outside bar with selection of food during the day, extra swimming pool has been added since the last we came here ( this is our 4th time) animation team very helpful with getting visitors involved in games, also at night on the platform stage with their shows along with other entertainers, Bar staff also very helpful except for one older man in bottom bar but over all Great Experience… Tom & Karen McP

The hotel seems lovely, the rooms are nice and the pool area was brilliant. The staff however seem to have a massive chip on their shoulders when serving at the royal level bar / restaurant. Happy to leave a group with a glass bottle around the pool but a big issue for me to request a different glass when receiving a vodka and coke in a pint glass! (Normal apparently). Such a shame as we’ve stayed in various Barcelo hotels and never experienced rude and ignorant staff. We only stayed for 3 nights all inclusive for my birthday, but chose to eat out every night due to the entitled staff. I even left a €20 tip on my first day as I always think it’s nice to appreciate the work put in. If I could request a refund for this, I would. The royal level area wasn’t busy so I would expect good service, god knows what it would be like in peak season. We are very seasoned travellers and really relaxed when things go wrong (believe me, we’ve had some horror stories) but I really do have an issue with rude/ignorant staff.

This hotel is the best hotel in Play Del Ingles, its a perfect location, close to loads of shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, bus stops and offers a free bus to Playa Del Ingles and Maspalomas beaches. But the best thing about this hotel is the staff, there all exceptional, caring and friendly, especially the management team, Laura Nurez, Ruban Ruiz, Ignacio Encinas. Angel (Reception), Sergio (outside kitchen), Encarna (outside kitchen), Paulo (inside kitchen), Jonathan (bar), Luis (bar), Yerover (waiter Restaurant) just a few to mention. Apart from the staff, this hotel is stylish, very clean, good choice of different foods, both inside and outside kitchens, good sunbathing areas with plenty of areas to sit and relax either with or without a good entertainment programme. We would never stay in any other hotel in Gran Canaria and cant wait to return, its our home from home.

Barcelo Margaritas Gran Canaria is a reasonable hotel. It's clean and tidy and the food isn't bad. It's just a shame that the actual guest experience is governed by a strict " Computer says no" policy. We booked for a fortnight to celebrate a friends 60th birthday. They were only staying a week. & unbeknown to us they had booked the Royal level. On our check in I asked if we could pay for an upgrade for the week to Royal level to stay with our friends as it's a separate hotel. I was given the price of €700 which I agreed to. As the receptionist started the upgrade, I studpidly said that we could obviously come back to the booked and paid for room in the standard hotel. Absolutely not was the answer. We were told that the only option was to pay €1400 extra or stay where we were. They weren't remotely interested that we would be separated from our friends. I took it up with the Jet2 rep, who was just as flummoxed that a hotel would turn away €700 purely on the basis of a computer program saying NO. They must be flushed with money. Having read Barcelo groups Teust pilots reviews, it appears to be a group that has little concern for its reputation. Heyho. Plenty of of others to chose from. T You only get one chance to make a first good impression.
