Stayed in this hotel 5 years ago in 2019. It was much nicer back then, from services to staffs friendliness to the interior of the room.
This is the only time I decided to come back to the Malisa hotel because the first time staying was really truly amazing. My boyfriend and I appreciated the surprised birthday cake and special room design prepared by the hotel staffs. Also you can tell that the hotel staffs tried their best to accommodate your needs and requests.
However, this time we were a bit disappointed with the whole experience. My friend and I wanted to make a reservation for the spa and massage (since they were doing buy one get one free promotion) after we checked out the hotel on the same day (their spa only available at 2pm everyday) which means we won’t be able to do it before check out. Their staffs mentioned to us that we won’t be able to do it after our stay and not really willing to make adjustment to this and kept saying this is the hotel policy. They were still nice during the communication but I think in terms of flexibility, I think that could be improved.
Besides, the interior of the room has aged quite a lot. Still not bad overall but you can clearly noticed couple of stains here and there.
Lastly, on the day when we checked out the hotel, we had some communication issue with the grab driver and trying to ask hotel staffs to help for the communication. They told us that they were not Thai therefore they couldn’t help (which I believe they can’t easily find someone local among their team to help me out, this is what I called as good hospitality) but anyway, I was amazed by this and kind of confused why the hotel decided to hire staffs that aren’t local. I totally understand on travelling industry, sometimes you don’t necessary only hire local ppl to diversify the team but not even one local out of the two staffs in the hotel lobby? This is just not convenient to customers.
So i don’t think I will come back again, better go explore other hotel and villa.
