We checked in 30/03/23 to find no water from the shower, wash basin and toilet. Complained twice and was told that it was being looked at. At that point they could have changed our room but didn't. We went out for dinner and some hours later found that the water was back on but would not get hot. Complained and was told it would be looked at in the morning. In the morning awoke to find no hot water still. Complained by phone to reception and was told that this happens often and the water off situation is a problem throughout Phnom Penh. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I asked to change room and she said it would make no difference. I said that's unacceptable and she hung up the line.
In addition, the room key slot on the wall was loose and I could easily touch the internal wiring. The room telephone would unplug itself from the phone line if I just moved it an inch. The mixer tap handle came off in my hands quite easily.
I made a new booking at another nearby hotel and walked out. Trip.com customer services were very sympathetic and responsive and refunded my unused days within the hour (almost).
