a good place to rest during a long journey. The stay took place in November 2022. The hotel is clean and well-kept. Staff nice and helpful. A hotel worth recommending. Peace and quiet will ensure a good rest.

I have stayed at the Talaysai Hotel on and off for 11 weeks over the last 4 months. I have had four different rooms and all of them have been spacious, modern, newly decorated in bright and pleasant colours, and they have all been spotlessly clean. Mrs. Lek, the owner and manager, goes out of her way to make you feel at home and has been a reliable source of knowledge and assistance every time I needed anything or there was something I did not understand, which was quite often 😊 . All of the staff are friendly, positive, and helpful. An extra bonus staying here is the wonderful buffet breakfast every morning, consisting of a wide variation of Thai and Western ingredients and choices. Thung Wua Laen Beach is a beautiful little village and the beach itself is over 2,5 km long and is one of the nicest I have seen in my 35 years of travelling to Thailand. The place is quiet and hassle-free. If you are looking for a place to get away from Thailand’s mass tourism hot-spots and just relax and breath, this would be an excellent choice. I have not left yet but am already mentally starting to miss it and the people. I will be back again in November.

The hotel looks nothing like the pictures. Anyone considering this hotel needs to know that in my opinion there is a safety risk. The hotel has no staff on the premises between 10.00pm and 6.00am. Should there be a fire or other emergency then guests are left to their own devices. In our room some of the electrics appeared new and were surface mounted steel tubing. One socket by the bed has three openings, two with switches the centre one open with Sellotape to stop your fingers entering, wires inside were visible. The switches outside the bathroom have cellophane taped over them to prevent water ingress from your hands. The young people who work in the reception area really try hard but are overseen by an older lady who is possibly the owner or manager and who is somewhere between surly and hostile and totally disinterested in the guests. There is also a system of fines, a fine for flushing paper down the toilet, another for taking breakfast and not eating it and a fine if you take food away from the breakfast room, not that you would take food away because the food is poor by anyone's standard. This is a truthful review, how this hotel gets good reviews is beyond me.
