Hotel Abelay

Great hotel just outside the centre about 10 mins walk until your in the centre anout 30 mins from the port area but a nice walk via the city centre. Reception staff really friendly. A supermarket on the road really handy for picking up bits like water for the room. Rooms are a good size with everything you need, a decent hairdryer in the bathroom which is a bonus. We had a little balcony which was really lovely. The hotel has a small terrace with a few sun loungers which is a nice place to chill. We left our baggage on the last day and collected it later which was really handy, a nice safe room available for this.

The best kind of budget hotel: ten mins walk from main transport hub, in relaxed residential district, freshly renovated in simple stylish way, friendly and safe, great value especially with half board. Best price I found was by booking direct.

Refurbished hotel, 20 mins walk from the Cathedral etc. Very clean facilities, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, aircon and tv, what more do you need! Attentive staff working at reception, reasonably priced breakfast. A jewel.

Very, very friendly employees at the reception! We also received a Welcome Drink because the rooms were not availble in the same floor. And a lot of Tipps for Palma and beaches. The single rooms are really small But for short stay ok. The room was really clean! Thanks to the cleaning staff. We also had a small balkony, Maybe this can be equipped a little bit more cosy so that it invites you to spend the evening there with a Glass of vine:) The only Problem was that it was really hot the Last days and the rooms smell a little bit. But the staff tried to help with that. Also the walls are thin - ohropax will help ;) The Hotel is a 15 min walk from the city Center / 10 min walk to the bus Station. You can also take a bus to the nice illetes Beach (45 min Drive)

Really nice hotel, super close to the center. The rooms are modern and fully equipped. Breakfast was continental and full of variety. The personnel was nice and really helpful. There’s also the option to additionally use the garage, which I found really convenient. I’ll come back for sure!

Well run, clean and convenient for transport links with a useful restaurant. Very reasonably priced but not somewhere for a romantic break perhaps. In a built up residential district but handy for the bus and railway stations including the Soller line. Excellent well priced simple Mallorcan dishes at lunchtime, more basic food in the evening but good pizzas.

I had a three night stay at the Hotel Abelay and I was able to get a good deal by booking direct which included breakfast. The hotel is in a good location not too far from Placa de Espania for transport links and the centre of Palma itself. There are shops, restaurants and supermarkets close by. Very helpful and friendly staff throughout and I found the hotel and the room was clean and comfortable. Great location and price for Palma and I would be happy to stay again.

Stayed at the hotel for 16 nights and could not fault it in any way. Modern, very clean, friendly nice staff, well organised hotel in a nice neighbourhood which we enjoyed exploring the streets and mingling with the locals. Continental breakfast was good value for €6 and kept up going for hours. We could walk to the bus/train station in about 15 minutes and could get a bus to different parts of the island. Top tip is to tap in and out with a bank card as it’s 40% less. The centre of town is a nice 20 minute stroll and there are shortcuts once you have been there for some time. We spent most evenings in the neighbourhood’s tree lined boulevards dining outside the many bars and restaurants and people watching. It’s lovely to observe a different way of life and how the warm climate makes life so much more enjoyable. We enjoyed sunbathing and swimming in the lovely Can Pastilla beaches of Playa de Palma which we reached by local buses it was easy to get there and back from the centre of town. Thank you Hotel Abelay and staff for a lovely stay (wish l had got the name of the very kind young man on reception mornings/afternoon he was so helpful and spoke so nicely to us). Also the adjoining restaurant/bar was good and very reasonably priced for meals.

The Abelay is excellent value for a Hotel only a 10 minute walk from the Train/ Bus station and Placa dEspanya, Spotlessly clean rooms, friendly helpful staff and a nice little bar / restaurant. They have limited parking in their garage so it’s advisable to call them early as street parking can be difficult to find. Plenty of underground parking nearer Palma centre.
