Villa de Pai

For what it cost, combined w the property’s central location that also provides a secluded riverside oasis off a raucous drag, Villa de Pai deserves 5 stars as quality budget accommodations. Unless you rent a motorbike, you will be walking around Pai anyways due to the lack of taxis or tuktuks or Grab rides. . So yes there are cheaper homestays + hostels further from the center, but it gets tiresome if not stressful to dodge trucks or drunken tourists on motorbikes as you negotiate your way (on foot) further afield to whichever cheaper abode you chose. My advice: incorporate the costs of motorbike + helmet rentals to the cost of your cheap find —- then remember that you don’t want to be driving around in the dark when lots of other stoned newbie scooter riding tourists are trying to do the same.

The hut was rustic, but affordable. It was very centrally located and the staff were so kind and helpful. The bed and pillow were very uncomfortable. The noise from the street is quite loud so either join the party or bring ear plugs. The river view is quaint and peaceful and the entire property is setup very cute.

Points positifs: - Villa de Pai est bien situé et proche de l'allée principale - parking pour scooters - terrasse - personnel agréable - joli cadre - bon rapport qualité-prix Points négatifs: - propreté des toilettes approximative à notre arrivée - pas de possibilité d'aération autre que via la porte d'entrée du bungalow Le confort est sommaire mais l'hôtel est pratique et fidèle aux photos!
