Altough it’s a beautiful hotel at the beach and they have really friendly staff working at the reception, there are still some things that needs improvement. The room had a carpet that had more stains on it than I could count, the mirror in the bedroom wasn’t cleaned and the bathtub was filthy, the sides of the tub still had soap residue from a previous visitor. The bed was very clean and comfortable though, no complaints about that but for almost 200 euros for 1 night those complaints shouldn’t be there.

This iconic hotel still exudes the charm and class of yesteryear, but it is clearly in need of renovation. The rooms are spacious and the sea view is stunning. So be sure to book a room with sea view. It is more than worth the extra cost. The breakfast is very extensive and varied; the breakfast room is extraordinary, with beautiful chandeliers, flowers and works of art. Thermae Palace is also easily accessible by public transport; there is a coastal tram stop nearby.

Thermae Palace Hotel is an incredible hotel. The building is very nice. Very historic and charming. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The food and drinks are excellent. Delicious meals at the hotel. The amenities are excellent.

This historic and enormous Grand Hotel may have faded a little in glory, but it offers a special experience. The building is absolutely enormous, and a portion is not in use with a full scale future renovation being planned which I understand will completely close the Hotel for a number of years. Take the opportunity now for a very reasonable price to have a room immediately overlooking the beach and sea. I stayed in a Sea View room with Terrace and the room was wonderful. Spacious, with a modern bathroom, and sitting area before the soaring glass French doors leading out to a Terrace that I'm sure could accommodate a dozen people. Having coffee on the Terrace at sun rise was a pleasure. Dinner in the formal Dining Room was delicious, with very attentive service, though personally I would lower the lights a bit to create a better ambiance. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. I'm looking for a reason to go again!

On the beach yet walking distance to downtown, the exterior feels a bit like past glory but the bar/restaurant and rooms are renovated and very comfortable.

I grew up near Ostend and it had always been on my bucket list to stay here. We finally did. The location and the grandeur of the building represents Ostend's glorious past and its current resurrection. It was a pleasure staying the rooms are nice and big and the views are unparalleled. A pity that the wellness side of the hotel is neglected.... sauna was out of order.

It was my second visit because the first one was exceptional. Unfortunately, this time, the experience was ruined by a rude staff catering in the breakfast area. The property otherwise is very good, location is exceptional, the staff at the reception are very friendly . I wish we had a seamless experience with the staff in the breakfast area.

The Thermae Palace Hotel is exceptional, because of it's location and the history that is tied to the building. The rooms with view on the North Sea are, although slightly outdated, amazing. It was our second stay at the hotel, this time for Christmas, and although we don't have complaints about the hotel itself, our checkout was less pleasant. During the Christmas eve dinner, we orderer some extra drinks (not included in the menu). At the end of the evening we asked how we should pay for these drinks (booked on the room, to be paid immediately etc), and after the staff checked, they informed us that it was not possible to book the drinks on the room, but that they decided drinks were complimentary for our table that evening. Great, we thought, and we continued to enjoy the rest of our stay. Unexpected, but a nice gesture. However, upon checkout, they informed us that we still had an outstanding bill. Mistakes can happen, and we're happy to pay for drinks that we had, but it did leave a bad taste at the end of our stay. The staff at checkout was quite strict, and some sort of compromise would have avoided the negative tone at the end of our stay, especially since we're returning customers.

One night stay -: Pros: The hotel itself might be a bit outdated, but we love the old beach posters. comfortable room - king size bed, and great sea view. Nespresso machine & free bottles of water. Price not too expensive , just before Xmas Cons: Additional parking fee of 15 euros is way too expensive especially since when you go to the Brasserie Albert (restaurant inside the hotel), the parking is free! Breakfast buffet at 25 euros is expensive, even if the dishes were fresh and good.
