The food is absolutely amazing, from the steak pie to the hot stone steaks highly recommend this, price is fantastic and great service, will definitely be back, staff very friendly and welcoming a real good family feel to the pub, good selection of drinks too :) it really topped off our engagement weekend!!

Lovely friendly staff. Bedroom small but adequate for 1 night,lovely touch with biscuits tea coffee hot chocolate, shampoo conditioner. Bar was very busy but had lovely meal with quick friendly service. Breakfast was amazing served by lovely friendly staff. Would definitely recommend and will stay again if in this area. Well done Newcastle Arms 👏

Ok for a one night stopover , room very dated but it was cheap , staff friendly and breakfast was excellent but the rooms do need a major makeover .you also get a lot of noise from the road that passes through the town from early morning , but that’s not the hotels fault ,

The very best hospitality. From walking in to checking out, the team are warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. For dinner, we had Fish and Chips in the bar area, which was the best I have tasted for long time - and huge portions. Breakfast was just as amazing. Free and safe parking, Thank you all for a wonderful stay. We were there to look into my husband's and daughters family history. Next time - I will bring my husband along too !

0 stars.Called to ask if they were still serving dinners as other restaurants stopped serving early on a Sunday and were told to just head in as it was no problem.We walked 15minutes in...all very hungry having just arrived in Coldstream to begin our holiday to be greated by the cook who very rudely told us that we couldn't have dinner as she was serving a table of 17 and would have to wait an hour. When we explained that we had called she just said..well Im the cook and we are busy!Felt sorry for the waitress who looked very embarrased by the cooks behaviour and rudeness and she did try to tell us of a couple alternatives but we had already tried them. Very unfriendly and disappointing start to our holiday.

I stayed here for only one night, but had a lovely small, single room. There were tea and coffee making facilities, with even a couple of sachets of hot chocolate and a packet of biscuits. My friend and I had an evening meal here, and breakfast in the morning. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The cooked breakfast was done exactly how you wanted it, and it was not greasy at all. The WiFi was excellent. There was a decent shower in the en suite bathroom. The staff could not have been friendlier, and the service at the evening meal and at breakfast was excellent. I would choose to stay here again.

Myself and 5 friends on a cycling trip stayed here. Just the job for a stop over after a long day in the saddle. Food was great in the evening and very reasonably priced, Full English super, especially the black pudding!. Accommodation quite basic but ideal for our needs. Service was good, owners very chatty & friendly, what’s not to like. They provided overnight secure bike storage which was a bonus.

Called in for some to eat, on a Saturday afternoon and wish we hadn’t bothered. Ordered a chilli burger and a cheese burger, the chilli on the burger made that one better, the cheese burger was rubbish, didn’t eat it, the chips were undercooked. How you can get burger and chips wrong I don’t know!!
