Extended Stay America Select Suites - Fort Myers - Northeast

Do NOT book here! Several of us arrived after 11 pm and were denied access to our reserved rooms. Aaron, the night manager was behind a metal screen on his computer and told each of us through their in house phone that they do not post that the hotel closes at 11pm, but it does and if we wanted a place to stay we needed to go to the comfort inn around the corner. He told us that they would charge our cards but we should cancel our reservations anyway and hopefully they would only charge us each a small amount. When calling reservations they advised me they can only make reservations and not cancel them and I needed to call customer service which doesn’t open till Monday (this is Friday night) to see if they will cancel the weekend reservations. They also told me that they could make a reservation for me in a hotel an hour away but I will have to put that on my credit card as well and they could not guarantee I wouldn’t be charged for the reservation I already had at this facility. This is beyond unacceptable. I have never experienced such poor treatment from a hotel. They have the audacity to charge people for hotel rooms then force them to sleep in their vehicles in the parking lot. I am writing this at 1 am in a gas station parking lot. I avoid making negative reviews online but people need to be aware of this. Again… DO NOT TRY TO STAY HERE!

Arrived at 8:45 pm to find the front desk closed and a sign stating to dial 500 to check in. Dialed the number no fewer than 25 times receiving a message that all circuits were busy. After 20 minutes, went to leave and a front desk person appeared in the parking lot. When I explained what happened, she stated 'Yeah, the call center is down.' Killed a bug when we finally got into the room. Walls are paper thin and the "resident" upstairs was running laps until 2:30 am. In addition, the vending machines are used all night long. Finally, the air conditioner leaked water all over the floor in the room. Just glad we didn't slip and fall. Bottom line, didn't sleep a second we were there. Emailed the manager twice to discuss the stay. No response. Bottom line, stay somewhere else if you want to sleep.
