We arrived a few minutes after three to a locked Inn with no signs of life. We waited as long as we could for someone to arrive and finally ended up leaving due to fact we had reservations at a local restaurant and needed to get ready. We ended up renting another room at a local chain hotel and got ready just in a nick of time. Would not recommend the Creole Inn.

Pros: Great to have two separate, but connected, rooms in one suite when traveling with a friend. Each was very pleasant and comfortable. The best neighborhood in New Orleans, in my opinion, and close to the lovely Flora coffee shop. Easy to get to Frenchman Street and the French Quarter, either walking or by Lyft (which was quite cheap). Quiet. Clean and well-maintained common areas. An excellent value, considering the location, quality, and spaciousness. Cons: About 28 relatively steep steps if your room is on the second floor. I got my luggage up, but had our driver take it down when we left. They do have one first-floor suite, I believe. Never figured out the Roku TV, but not a big deal.

Great value choice to be able to visit NOLA and walk to the French Quarter. Rooms were clean and you're probably just sleeping there, so how many in-room amenities do you need. Everything was clean and the breakfast area was basic, but well organized. Plenty of free street parking if you have a vehicle. Defenitely would stay again and recommend to others.

The room was clean. The bed was huge and comfortable. The towels were plenty and fluffy, the shower water was hot. The location is fantastic, and the price was good. It's not a luxury establishment. There is a small fridge in the room which is important, since you will be eating out, and portions in this town defeat a single sitting. Microwave and coffee maker are downstairs, good restaurants, bars, and cafes are all around.

DON’T STAY HERE Arrived at about 9pm and didn’t know we needed a code to check in. This had arrived in my junk mail while we were travelling. Couldn’t get hold of anyone. Eventually got in by trying the last 4 digits on the booking confirmation number. Bedroom door was unlocked. Eventually someone relied to my emails with the codes and explained how to lock the bedroom door. No hot water for a shower either that night or the next morning. We found somewhere else to stay and checked out early. The only good point is the sheets on the bed were clean and the towels white and fluffy.

The older reviews simply don’t apply as this place has new owners and a great property manager. It’s clean and includes a sitting area with coffee, snacks, and a microwave. The room was nice and it has its own ac. And a fridge. The location is perfect for Frenchmen street only a few blocks away and then a few blocks more for bourbon street. Pack your walking shoes and enjoy NOLA from a great place.

I just stayed here last weekend and I had read the past reviews of it (mainly on Tripadvisor). I was a little nervous because recent reviews didn’t look good. But then I read one recent review (I think either on Booking or Google) that said that management/ownership had changed and that many of the items had been addressed so I decided to give it a try. I can confirm without a doubt that the ownership has changed and that I actually enjoyed my stay. It was a nice but old traditional inn. It’s certainly no frills. But the room I stayed in was a good size with a large bathroom. I stayed in the Plantation Room. The bed seemed hard at first touch, but when I laid down on it, it felt perfect actually. The mattress isn’t the problem at all. The pillows are a slight issue only because they’re thin and you only get two. So if you’re staying as a couple, you will need more pillows. But after double stacking my pillows, I found the bed quite comfortable. The shades and curtains are light but I didn’t find an issue with sunlight in the morning. The TV wasn’t easy to work but that’s more my problem having never messed with Ruku before. I don’t think the TV had any local TV. It was dependent on limited shows or you had to sign in to your account which I didn’t do because I really didn’t watch much TV. The room came with plenty of towels. It also had a mini fridge that worked better than most hotel minifridges I’ve ever seen. And the A/C… Ok, you don’t have your own thermostat which might make you nervous at first. But the A/C works and works very well. In the heat of a summer afternoon, if you take a cold shower and lay down, you feel fine. By the morning, you are actually cold. But I like it cold. I can’t sleep when it’s hot. So the A/C definitely works and works well for the entire building it seems. The shower is huge although the water pressure is limited, but I will tell you that the water pressure seems to be an issue all across town and I’ve stayed in more than a dozen older places in the CBD, Warehouse District, the Quarter, the Marigny and Mid City. Even the nicer hotels had very light water pressure. Now the nicer hotels might have gotten hot water quicker, but there’s not much else you can do about pressure. The host gives you the codes to the front door and your room door before you arrive (unless you’re too early). I got my codes around lunch time the day of my check in. But I also think I was the only person staying in the Inn this past weekend. The front door knob is weird and could probably use a reno. Darlene is very nice and if you need anything while you’re there, just let her know. Parking was pretty easy in front of the inn. One other thing, the steps. The steps throughout are weird. The outside steps aren’t equal sized steps, so be careful and mindful because that one step on each side seems much higher than the rest and you can trip if you’re not paying attention. But it’s also classic New Orleans.

Useless place. Turned up 15 mins early couldn’t get in. Tried banging on the door calling the number they give you to go through a call Center which is closed. Had no idea how to get in. Wasn’t even sure if the right place as no name on the building. Our taxi driver thought it was a con and luckily waited with us. After 15 mins after the 4pm check in time the taxi driver took us to another hotel. So had to pay out for another hotel so not happy at all. After logging into the WiFi as I had no internet as phone didn’t connect as from UK they sent me an email at 3:55pm giving me a code to unlock the door. There was no warning that this is how they operate they pre-warn you as I would have told them I have no internet. No response from hotel via email. Just don’t bother with this place. It looked awful and run down but could comment inside. How do people run a place with no one around and no one to call

Do not stay here if you can help it! Owners clearly do not put any effort into running the hotel. Absolutely no one on site to address any issues (and there were many) with only occasional, completely incorrect, late replies to the listed phone number and no reply at all to email. They were completely uncommunicative until just before check-in despite calls and emails, and then only to tell us that we couldn't check in until after check in time because the room wasn't ready. As for the issues on site: -2 towels for a 4 person room with the only suggestion to look in one of the several unlocked, completely disordered supply closets (which contained no towels) -shower knob fell off on our second day and wasn't addressed at all despite messages to the listed contacts -dogs in other rooms howling at all hours through incredibly thin walls -no top sheet for one bed with the bottom sheet the wrong size, and no way to replace it (as with towels) -Empty nitrous oxide canisters left strewn in a drawer, indicating that cleaning was NOT thorough -significant train noise throughout the night -vines growing significantly through a window in the rooms and over the blinds With that said, it is in a good location for cheap and is (mostly) clean, so if you aren't put off by any of the above, give it a try I suppose!
