We stayed for a month it was wonderful the staff made us feel so welcome like family. We had a beautiful room with a lovely view the room was spotless. The food was yummy we loved every minute we can't wait to go back. Love to them all xxxxxxxxxxxx

A very disappointing stay at this hotel.The room was adequate but view was a concrete wall a few feet away and the bathroom was grubby.The reception was unstaffed so we had no support at all.Wi fi in rooms was not working.I would not recommend this hotel

If you wish to live in the heart of the town of Nerja, the Marissal by Dorobe is clearly a top contender to consider. If you choose a room with a sea view (a room near the sea, is NOT a sea view room), you will be overlooking the Balcon de Europa, which has to be one of the best locations in the whole of Nerja. The room we had was adequate for our needs with a very comfortable bed and pillows. Air conditioning was very good. The room was cleaned daily and was spotless after. There was a small Juliet balcony with views over the Balcon area and sea, with double doors that when closed, completely blocked out all noise outside. All in all a brilliant location. There were however a few negative points. The bathroom shower area was needing spruced up, as the shower area itself was in need of refurbishing and a deep clean, resealing of joints etc. However, breakfast time was a huge disappointment. Thankfully, we did not include having breakfast when we booked our holiday room, but at the start of our 10 day stay, we did buy breakfast 3 mornings. On the first morning after arriving, very late the night before, we entered the breakfast room at 9.55am to be told breakfast had finished at 10am. As it was not yet 10am we took a seat and managed to grab a croissant and a coffee from a coffee machine, to the disgust of our patrons. Next morning we were bright and early, grabbed a croissant, coffee and headed outside the open door to a table, to be told we can’t sit outside, although non guests were. The last morning we had breakfast, we had no time to choose anything other than a croissant, as the guy who worked the bar area came through and started to remove all the breakfast offerings, which consisted of a few slices of ham, cheese, hard boiled eggs in a basket, a few slices of bacon and very little else and the food on offer never changed over the period we stayed. These interactions at breakfast time soured our otherwise pleasant stay at the Marissal. Whilst holidaying in Nerja previously, although not staying at the Marissal, we used to often stop and have lunch, a drink, coffee etc, but on this occasion we decided to take our custom elsewhere, after our breakfast experiences. It’s such a shame, as their location is perfect to sit and watch the world go by. Would we go back to stay at the Marissal, possibly yes, for the location only, certainly not for their customer service or lack of interaction with their guests. 5 star location, 2 star experience.

Clean room with a great shower ensuite. Entry by swipe is good. All staff friendly and helpful. Some facilities limited owing to time of year. Wonderful location on the Balcon de Europa with one beach very close by for swimming. Excellent location also for eateries.... again friendly service, used to visitors. I requested an extra pillow and kettle... Voila! No sooner requested than appeared. I really do recommend this value for money hotel.

This is a small hotel in a wonderful position in Nerja. Our room is simply furnished with exceedingly comfortable beds with lovely white bedding. We have a traditional balcony that looks over the Balcon to the sea and coastline. The cafe/restaurant below is closed for winter holidays, so it gives a feel of private rooms which we like. We feel safe and secure as access is by card through 2 secure doors and then our room. The housekeeping staff are friendly and efficient. Reception is not open all the time. However, telephone contact is easy. Right in the centre of Nerja, everything is within walking distance. A weekend is not enough! We hope to return.

Highly recommend this hotel. Its basic, but the prices reflect this. My room was lovely with a great view over the sea and it was clean and airy. Friendly staff, good value food. I will definitely visit again.

We stayed for a week in June we had a wonderful time the room was spotless with beautiful towels. The food was great and the staff were lovely. Its in a great location. We are so looking forward to going back which we are in February fo a much longer time. We love the beaches and so near to everything.

Excellent location , waking distance from lovely beaches and ample restaurants and bars. Staff were extremely helpful with arranging transfers and offering directions. Breakfast was average and it was a case of if your'e not down early everything is gone, however the waiters do try and accommodate your needs were possible. Rooms were clean and changed daily if requested.

My husband and I stopped here for a cold drink and a light snack. A lovely location and service and food was all good. Unfortunately, when I visited the toilets they were absolutely awful, paper everywhere, dirty and an awful smell of urine. I went to the bar and spoke to a lady that did thank me but then said they would be cleaned later (I think when the lady finished work). I honestly don’t think the toilets could have been cleaned for days and sadly we won’t return. The cleanliness ruined what was an OK stop off.
