this is Cinque Terre !!! 5 towns / stay in Monterosso all the towns are old so lower your expectations as the hotels are older train station is less than 100 steps to hotel : no stairs or hills you are less than 50 steps to the beach hotel had a large patio where you can sit n enjoy cafe yes the inside is dated furniture reminds me of grandma house the rooms are decent size, the bathroom is small… the shower is a tight fit if you are a bigger person … balconies are lovely … you have A/C, Wifi, tv all that you need including free safe….. every morning enjoy a full breakfast / it’s not mort american style but you have lots of options the best thing are the employees : been there for over 30years … they are kind, helpful …. they. are what makes hospitality…. this is your starting point to the other towns …. we did 4 towns & La Spezia in a full day

Nice vacation spot at the end of Montarosa Beach area. Easy to walk to the beach and train station. Good breakfast included and nice people. First place we stayed where the air conditioner actually got too cold.

To all prospective Cinque Terre travelers: Monterosso is the best of 5 Terre villages if you want to relax on the beach, get some sun and swim in Ligurian see. Place is touristy, hence the premium prices at restaurants. Our hotel was dated and overpriced, like most of accommodations there. Couple of perks: watch out for pickpockets while on trains between villages or in tourist crowds and don’t leave anything valuable in your hotel room (we had an unpleasant experience in our Hotel 5 Terre). Food is pretty standard fare everywhere. Breakfast is ok. Seeing other villages is a bit overrated, just 3-4 nights in Monterosso is fine. It gets better with fewer people before 10 am and after 5-6 pm.

One of our favorite hotels of our trip. The staff was so welcoming and accommodating. Easy walk from the train station and too the beach. We had a room for 3, could have been for four on the fourth floor. Air worked great. Beds comfortable. But it was the staff that made it great. Helped with bags, great bartending. We had to check out very early. We were able to get espresso and croissants before we left and they brought all our bags down that morning. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Very charming place with charming people.

A lovely comfortable place to stay , well situated in town, close to the beach and facilities. so authentic in its decor. a true Italian experience. The staff were so nice, helpful and rooms were immaculate. Breakfast was lovely and we were able to enjoy afternoon drinks in the gardens.
