A slightly dated but quaint and totally charming hotel with a lovely owner and fabulous staff. We had a very nice quiet , spotlessly clean room and it was beautifully serviced every day. Excellent breakfast and afternoon tea. We enjoyed the warmth shown and the ambience of the hotel.

Held our wedding ceremony and reception here, absolutely stunning hotel and gardens! Completely stress free experience. Stayed in the bridal suite for the night which was very spacious and comfortable. Every member of staff treat you like family and can't do enough for you. Very helpful and friendly and food is amazing! We would definitely stay here again!

We have just returned from a four night stay in this fantastic hotel. We were part of a party of 32 people and the quality of service we all received was outstanding. All the staff were fantastic, friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble and their attention to detail and extra touches made us feel very welcome. The room was comfortable and quiet and everything you needed was available including an iron and ironing board, trouser press, hairdryer and extra blanket. The quality of food was excellent, beautifully presented the desserts were homemade and breakfast freshly cooked to order. Located in a perfect position for visiting the Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley I can’t recommend this hotel enough.

Fantastic luxury break with very substantial prosecco afternoon tea, 4 course a la carte evening meal, a nights stay and a beautiful cooked breakfast.Stunning en suite room with 4 poster bed.Lovely relaxed place to stay, gorgeous food (loads of it) and very pleasant staff especially Sultan.Great value highly recommended true luxury break.We’ll definitely be back.

Alex is great! This hotel wasn’t for us but with someone like Alex at the helm you can’t help but leave with a smile! Our first room had obviously had dogs in it and I’m allergic to them so we asked to move. Second room, the bed was so soft my husband slept on the floor. Breakfast was served with a smile but nothing seemed to be freshly cooked bar the eggs. Hotel felt tired and probably appeals to an older clientele, but as I said, Alex is a gem!

This was a great location to stay after the Wales match on tge way home. The team at the hotel couldn't have been nicer. Tasty and substantial dinner. We were made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was excellent. Tea perfectly made. Would come back again. Thank you!

Just home from another stunning family meal at the hotel. This was an 80th birthday celebration for my mother in law and the team here went above and beyond as usual. From arrival Tim & Alex were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The food was incredible, superb choices, served with precision and everything was gorgeous. Special mention to Sultan who once again was outstanding, a true credit to this hotel. We married at this hotel in 2017 and have returned again and again as nothing has ever beaten the hospitality, service and food quality that this hotel provides. I cannot recommend this hotel and Clarke’s restaurant enough, it’s is first class every time.

We booked a two night stay in order to attend the New Year's eve gala dinner. The food was lovely; a really nice dinner on the first evening followed by an epic one on the 31st. Breakfast was also excellent, offering fantastic choice and good quality ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit salad and the eggs were so tasty! The hotel is family-run, which makes such a difference and is so rare to find these days. The bedroom was very comfortable and the hotel has lovely spaces where to spend a rainy afternoon. We would love to come back and explore the area...when it's not raining!
