Not a good experience, help was unfriendly and the hotel need renovations. Dirty carpets, rooms very small. Don’t recommend.

Just a bit outdated rooms, but still a nice place to stay. The breakfast is great with a lot to choose for. The staff goes beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay. We have never experienced hotel staff this helpful. We ate once at the restaurant, maybe we got unlucky but on that one visit we would not recommend. The beach bar from the same owners did have good food.

Convenient hotel in the centre of the town next to the square with live music. Clean and with all amenities. Nice and abundant breakfast. Coffee and tea making facility in the room. Really friendly staff. Nice vieuw ftom our balcony to nearby mountains and handicraft cultural centre.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days (22-28 June) as part of our island hopping holiday. First the good points - location is excellent in the centre of town and just 5 mins walk to the port and beach areas. Room was fine (would recommend one looking over the square). Food and drink (and service) in the bar was good. Nice swimming pool. Bad points - no complementary water in room which seems to be normal in other CV hotels we stayed. Breakfast poor, food uncovered and empty food trays not refilled. The worst issue was the poor service from some reception staff. We asked for an additional pillow (at 10pm) to be told ‘No! laundry room closed’ and the phone was abruptly put down. On another occasion (during the afternoon) we asked if we could exchange some money and was told simply ‘No!’ When we asked why she said she didn’t have the ‘cash box’. While maybe this was correct she didn’t offer any other suggestions or say when the ‘cash box’ would be open. Then again she abruptly put the phone down. Not all reception staff were poor though, some offered a friendly greeting we passed. One lady (she may have been a supervisor) was very helpful exchanged money and offered advice. Unfortunately it is only the unfriendly ones that you tend to remember!

No lift ("thank you for your understanding") so a bracing 40 stairs several times a day. No hot water since April 20th (still hopeful for that), bracing cold showers then. Drab breakfast with lousy coffee or herb tea as alternative. 4* ? A bad joke

Stayed here for 2 separate nights one week apart. One room overlooking the park/ street. On return we had a room overlooking the pool. Rooms pretty standard but those on the street side felt bigger. The en suite and balcony certainly were Breakfast was excellent. Good selection and lots of everything. And dining room opened early so we could eat before catching early morning ferry. As was seemingly the norm in CV it was the staff that made the stay so good. Very helpful, efficient and went the extra mile. In particular Nilza who helped us retrieve our luggage which hadn't kept up with us. Thanks so much. Would certainly recommend.

Very friendly staff. The building is a little more run down than my previous stays. The room was clean and orderly. The small pool was dirty and unkempt. Great central location

Oasis Porto Grande is a wonderful, hotel, located in the most beautiful square in Mindelo. We can walk everywhere from here, the staff is wonderful. The rooms are very comfortable with lovely balconies. Do chose a room overlooking the square. Mindelo is the most beautiful city with wonderful galleries, concerts and cultural places.

Nice hotel and pool facilities. Great breakfast. Rooms very clean. Pillows are not comfortable. Friendly staff Be aware the photos are misleading this hotel is nowhere near the beach as the main photos suggest. That is a beach bar. The hotel is a 10-25 minute walk away inland

This hotel is a great location in the city center and walking distance to the beach. The breakfast is wonderful with many choices of food. Outdoor spaces are very relaxing.

Ich war eine Nacht zum Start einer Wanderreise in einer Gruppe hier. Das Hotel liegt sehr gut in Mindelo, man erreicht Strand und das Stadtzentrum fußläufig. Daneben fand ich mein Zimmer sehr schön eingerichtet, in europäischem Standard mit gefüllter Minibar, Schreibtisch, TV [die meisten Programme natürlich portugiesisch-sprachig] und Kaffeekocher. Außerdem super, dass es am Schreibtisch genug Steckdosen zum Laden meiner ganzen Geräte gab. Mein Zimmer hatte einen kleinen Balkon zum kleinen Pool hinaus und ich konnte es gut abdunkeln und habe hier gut geschlafen. Das Bad hatte genug Ablagefläche und eine ebenerdige Dusche. Das Frühstücksbuffet hatte alles, was ich gebraucht habe. Daneben bietet das Hotel die Möglichkeit, an der Rezeption Geld zum üblichen Tarif zu wechseln, was sehr praktisch ist, wenn die vielen Geldautomaten in der Straße alle gerade nicht funktionieren. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Hotel würde auch fünf Sterne von mir bekommen, wenn das Licht im Zimmer nicht manchmal komplett ausgefallen wäre [was im innenliegenden Bad schon mal ein Problem sein kann]. Aber insgesamt kann ich das Hotel voll empfehlen.
