I recently stayed at Travelodge Middlesbrough, and overall, it delivered exactly what I expected from a budget-friendly chain—clean, comfortable, and conveniently located accommodation without unnecessary frills. Location: The hotel is situated in a great spot—within walking distance of Middlesbrough town centre, close to shops, restaurants, and public transport. It’s especially convenient if you're visiting Teesside University or heading out to explore the North Yorkshire Moors or coastal towns nearby. Check-in & Service: Check-in was quick and hassle-free. The staff were friendly, approachable, and happy to offer local tips or help with directions. While service is relatively minimal compared to full-service hotels, what’s offered is efficient and polite. Room Quality: The room was basic but clean, with a comfortable bed, decent lighting, and ample space for a short stay. As expected with Travelodge, there’s not a lot in terms of extras—no minibar, limited storage—but it covered the essentials: TV, desk, tea and coffee facilities, and good WiFi (though premium WiFi comes at a small extra charge). Bathroom: Functional and tidy with a powerful shower and fresh towels. It’s not luxurious, but it was well-maintained and served its purpose. Noise & Comfort: Some light traffic noise from nearby roads, but nothing too disruptive—especially with the windows closed. Beds were surprisingly comfortable, and the blackout curtains helped ensure a decent night’s sleep. Value for Money: This is where Travelodge shines. For the price, it’s hard to beat, especially if you're just looking for a place to sleep while spending your days out and about. Great value for solo travelers, couples, or business guests on a budget. Final Thoughts: Travelodge Middlesbrough won’t wow you with luxury, but it ticks all the right boxes for budget-conscious travelers who value convenience, cleanliness, and comfort. I’d happily stay again for a short trip or work-related visit.
