Hotel Wilder Mann

This is a very nice hotel at the far end of the main street in the lower part of Meersburg. It sits at the base of a very steep hill which one walks up to get to the upper part of the town and the castle and such so very convenient for that. Had a side-facing room (lovely view of the castle) but which unfortunately had people walking right by at almost eye level. Hotel was fully booked so we couldn't change rooms but I would request a room on a higher floor when you reserve. Room itself was very basic yet had all the necessities. Very clean. Breakfast was very good and extensive with good options of sweet and savory. The piece de resistance of this hotel is their terrace which is huge and truly beautiful...trees and vines overhead, lovely lighting and sits right on the lake. Exceptionally clean and tidy! Perfect place for a beer after getting off of our bikes and for dinner (which was very good). Good wine selection and our waiter even let me try a few before choosing one. Bikers take note - I had told the hotel we were coming with bikes and asked about storage. They had not replied. Turns out storage is down the street (other end of the main street) at a bike garage for which we were charged ten euros per day/per bike. Not thrilled about that. Otherwise, your choice is to leave your bikes outside overnight...there are racks right in front of the hotel.

Very good location, excellent terrace, but let down by the food. We were pleasantly surprised to see few tables occupied, but seems the restaurant is not so popular. We ordered the surprise starter but explicitly asked for one portion between the two of us, we actually asked the waitress twice that she had understood. We were charged two full portions. The starter was pretty strange, with cooked foi gras type liver on raw pumpkin, tuna fish which seemed a little raw, salmon and beetroot mixture and bland unseasoned cous cous. Parma ham was the only nice part.Too much starter and not very nice. This was followed by Wiener Schnitzel. The meat was soft and wet like it was soaked in fat, it was thick, served with anchovy fillets - very odd and not very pleasant combination. The chips were frozen scoop style. Service was really good and attentive. After we indicated that we had not enjoyed the meal, the main courses were removed from the bill which was really appreciated. So in summary a great location, good service but really disappointing food.

Wunderschöne, grosse Terrasse direkt am See unter Kastanienbäumen. Service war sehr freundlich und schnell. Der bestellte Schmorbraten war OK, etwas zäh und preislich für das Gebotene an der oberen Grenze. Dafür waren die hausgemachten Spätzle hervorragend. Alles in einem kann ich die gepflegte Terrasse durchaus empfehlen um in Meersburg einzukehren.

Wir haben bei herrlichem Wetter einen Tisch auf der Terrasse gehabt: wunderschöne Lage. Bestellt haben wir Fischteller mit Spargel (vereinzelt zu finden) und Spargel (niemals 300g) mit Sauce Hollandaise (war viel zu fest) und Wiener Schnitzel. Für die Qualität war es eindeutig zu teuer.

Wir waren als Paar unterwegs und machten einen Tagesausflug in Meersburg. Haben ein schönes Plätzchen zum Abendessen gesucht und sind auf der traumhaften Terrasse gesessen. Der Kellner war sehr bemüht um uns und machte einen richtig guten Job. Sehr kundenfreundlich! Essen war super lecker.

Perfektes Preis Leistungsverhältnis mit einem wirklich tollen Frühstück Buffet. Unser Zimmer war modern und gross sowie neu hergerichtet. Die Betten waren bequem und das Personal sehr nett. Auf Wunsch wurden zum Frühstück frische Eierspeisen zubereitet. Alles wie es sein soll. Wir werden wieder kommen.

Hotel und Zimmer waren sehr sauber, schön eingerichtet, liebevoll dekoriert . Es wirkt sehr einladend.

Wir waren am Freitag 17.11.23 da zum Mittagessen. Man hat uns sehr Freundlich empfangen. Der Herr war eine sehr freundliche Bedienung und tolles feines Essen! Wir kommen wieder bis bald Erika & Andy aus der Schweiz 🇨🇭

Groot hotel met ruime kamers. Badkamer ok. Niet elke kamer heeft airco. Goede WiFi, lift aanwezig. Uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet. Goede ligging tov het haventje voor uitstappen op de Bodensee, restaurants, … Betalende parking op 10 minuten wandelen van het hotel. Tip: vraag een kamer met uitzicht op het meer.
