This used to be a my favorite hotel on McAllen but has gone downhill in recent years, needs major renovations especially to the HVAC system, freshening, intensive cleaning, etc.
Our 3 rooms smelled so bad like sewage or sulphur, cigarrets. Stunk horribly. The pool area was not clean
The receptionist had a very bad attitude
We asked for a blanket and she was rude "you should have one in your room, find it", she said;
We told here there was none, and she said "I dont have blankets, I have towels...!" repeating this twice,
English is not our first lenguagge but we do understand the basic
She was disrespectful and so arrogant. She shouldn't be working in the hotel.
In the oposite, the gentleman assisting at breakfast was wonderful and kind.
Breakfast was delicious and they changed up the options in the morning (eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, pancakes, yogurt, fresh fruit, pastries and cereal)
The hotel location is perfect.
Overall, our stay wasnt the best so I don’t think we would come back.
I think there are other hotels with better service at a similar price on McAllen.

Liked the big common space groups could hang out and talk. TV’s were nice to watch college football. Warm cookies are always the best!!!

I always stay at the Double Tree Suites when I have business in McAllen. Friendly staff, great restaurant and bar, close to the airport.

This place is pretty run down and desperately in need of a renovation. Staff was great but the rooms are extremely dated.

We just wanted to get a hotel with a swimming pool and a little get away from the house. The hotel is still very beautiful, we liked that the pool was inside and away from the hot sun but would of been nice to get a tan if they had an out door one. The rooms are pretty big and spacious, with the living room area separated from the main room. The bed is very comfortable. Also was able to order a drink from bar and have it delivered to my room so that was nice.
