Beautiful hotel. It’s just a shame the service was not great. Would recommend other hotel in le morne over this

Definition of today’s luxury is not only great food, great rooms, great addons such as golf course, pools, gym etc. Today’s luxury is all about personalized customer experience. This is what you will get at the Heritage Telfair, thanks to Dominique Grel’s team.

Dream place for golfers, food and hospitality and everything is so dreamy, golf courses are in wonderful condition. I specially want to thank to Domini the maid, room was always tidy with a smiling face bonus, Naresh the waiter, always ready with morning coffee my cup was always full, Shalin and Anjelique the best omlettes and eggs with smiling face always always And Mr Noor was a perfect problem solver, responsive, positive personality taking care of us during our stay, generally personel was above expectations

We stayed just after new years for our honeymoon from 3rd -10th of Jan and had a Beach front junior suite. I am 40 and my wife is 33. No kids ( I haven’t mentioned kids in the review, but it is kid friendly. However, as a couple you will not have any issues with kids running around etc). This was our second time at Le Telfair having stayed there in 2018 on our first holiday together. It was the best holiday we had ever been on and were happy that when we returned this time, there were some familiar faces (I’ll get to that later!). We were nervous that having had such a great time 5 years ago, it would disappoint this time, but I’m happy to say once again Le Telfair exceeded our expectations at every turn. We had an amazing time and I could not recommend this resort strongly enough and we will certainly be back at some point on the future. Having used this website many times to try and suss out where to stay I will now try and return the favour with a review that has the kind of info that I always want! Rooms: The first time we came we booked a beachfront room (not a suite) but when we got there it was unavailable so we were upgraded to Garden view senior suite. It was amazing and the best room I have ever stayed in by a country mile. This time we had a beach front junior suite. This room was every bit as good as it looks on the website. We were in room 101 which is on the beach but slightly set back which was nice as people aren’t constantly walking past you. You have your own terrace with chairs, private mini beach with sun loungers and it’s about five seconds to the sea. The bed is HUGE and I loved the mattress (I like firm ones so it was perfect for me. The missus likes soft ones so I don’t think she liked it as much but she still said she had good sleeps). The pillows are excellent and they provide a range or soft/firm ones so you’re all good whatever your preference. The bedding is super high quality. There is an outdoor shower which is divine at night as well as a gorgeous bathroom which is really spacious. The room has a fully stocked mini bar including full bottle of whisky and rum if you’re feeling it! The bar gets stocked everyday. The housekeeping staff are lovely and could not be more helpful and attentive if they tried. Our beds were always remade everyday and fresh water provided. Beach: No surprise but the beach is stunning. We haven’t stayed anywhere else in Mauritius so I don’t have a frame of reference, but of course the sand is white and the water turquoise and clear so what more could you want! As we were staying in the height of summer it was 30 degrees everyday and so the water was like getting into a bath. We lounged in it and never got cold. One night I just sat in the ocean watching the sun go down for about 40 mins and could not have been more comfortable. There is a current, but the beach is shallow for well over 200 metres out so you’re not going to have any problems! Restaurants: There are five places

Wonderful hotel in beautiful grounds. Staff were amazing and always willing to help - especially our customer service host Noor. We’d have given 5 stars but there were a few minor things that need putting right but once these were pointed out they were rectified to our satisfaction. The staff were always smiling & happy to engage so it was a shame to see some guests rude & arrogant towards them. Our host pre-booked all our dinner reservations for us and in the main they were excellent. There’s a huge number of restaurants between Le Telfair & its sister hotel the Alwali. We went to a different restaurant every night & still didn’t get to them all. Some places were much better than others.

Room - I stayed in the beach front junior suite which was very clean and had an incredible view. I was under the impression I would be on the bottom floor which leads out to the beach but I was on the top floor. I think there are different names so just make sure you are clear on the type of beach front room you are getting. Staff- The majority are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. They also greet you (even ones you do not know) and go above and beyond to ensure you have an amazing stay. For example, I had a mosquito bite that became infected and received a bowl of fruit and a get well soon message. Also, the lady who regularly cleaned my room left a lovely note for me to enjoy my day. As a solo traveller, I really appreciated these gestures. You are assigned a residence host . Josh was mine and would WhatsApp me regularly to check everything was going well with my stay. When he had gone home or was not in, someone else would come and check on me. Due to me leaving a sugar cane in my room, a lot of ants started to appear but I was given a bug repellant spray by one of the cleaners that I could keep in my room. I really appreciated this. There is so much more I could write about how amazing the staff are! There is also a doctor or medical staff on-site from around 8am to maybe 9pm. I didn’t have to pay for anything I was given. Food- The breakfast buffet was the best I’ve had. There were so many options (can also be arranged to have in your room - just note the portions are big so be careful when ordering ‘x2’ of something) that were well made. The food and ambience in the C Beach Club, The Golf Club restaurant, Infinity blue (in Awaii resort - there is a shuttle service), Le Palmier and Ginja were the best. Apart from the locavore buffet and the breakfast which were amazing, I found Anabella’s hit and miss. You have to book the resturants in the evening but can walk in during the day (apart from the C beach club which you also have to book for lunch and Anabella’s which requires no bookings in the evening) Activities -There is so much to do in the resort, from the activity centre where you can take part in exercise classes, go on a bike tour (or rent a bicycle for your own use) and the beach where you can book water sport activities (I took part snorkelling and glass bottom boat). I would recommend going to the centre at the beginning of your stay to see their timetable for the week. There are also water activities you can do as soon as you want to without booking on the beach, e.g kayaking, pedal boating, paddle boarding and kitesurfing. As a non- swimmer, the beach staff kept an eye on me which made me feel safe. Spa -The resort has a spa where you book a number of activities and beauty treatments. My 1 hr 30 minute facial which was amazing and I was recommended products for my skin type which I bought and are now staples in my skincare routine. I took part in sunset yoga (definitely a must - the view is stunning), breathwork, yin yo

Service disappoints amidst hotel excellence. Dining mishaps due to hedgehogs, cats and poor customer service. Golf impresses. Lervin Modun stands out.
