Zanzibar Pearl - Boutique Hotel & Villas

This was a great place to stay in Zanzibar east side. Very comfortable bedding . Air conditioning works wonderfully. Staff is extremely friendly, everything was spotless. It’s organized with billing. Many staff asks if they can help, greets you kindly. Spa service was winderful. Clean water is provided. Food was delicious. Close to Ocean One divers whudvh was exceptional as well. Very happy with my stay. Only thing to barely mention is internet is slow at times.

A 3 star hotel which has been advertised as 4 star. An awful experience with a very bad behaviour from an incompetent Hotel Manager who was unhelpful and totally rude. They tried to charges us a 5% if we supposed to pay by card. The rooms haven’t any internet connection and we used to go to the next hotel which was approximately 10 min by walking. The Hotel provided only one filtered tap water for two persons, to drink and brush the teeth. Honestly?!?! I cannot even imagine how customers in a very hot weather can survive!!! Although the fact that we complained to the Manager directly he only suggested to us that we should buy more bottles of water if needed to a local shop in an unknown area! Last and not least….the breakfast that was poor in quality and quantity. More than one fly in the jars of fruits and around the bowls. The waiter should ask every time the chef if we could have some more food from a very small selection of the menu. Even though, by the end they made mistake to charge us more money for the infrastructure tax. A completely useless waste of money and time!! To avoid….

Eliza and the staff are friendly, professional, and accommodating. We were a family a 5 traveling with a 5 year old. The room was perfectly clean, spacious, and comfortable. We had no issues with insects. We were able to hear the rolling waves and fall asleep easily. I feel the prices are fair. They gave a family of 3 two bottles of water per night for drinking and brushing teeth. That was more than enough for us as we drank a lot throughout the day. The pool area is beautiful and well designed. Our daughter was secure in the pool due to shelf seating. We would definitely rebook a stay here.

Wonderfull place. The hotel is beautiful and the staff made ud feel so welcomed. They were smiling and helpful. The rooms were perfect with good cleaning. It was a good place for our famile. We will love to come back.

Well located, this hotel will bring you nice memories. We went with my family and the waiters and all the crew are really kind. We can feel a friendly and cosy vibe, you won’t feel homesick !

Came here for a few days of scuba diving with Orn Ocean and it was really great! Room was spacious and the staff was extremely friendly. The chef was wonderfully accommodating of my allergies. Overall, I had a great time (even with the heavy April rains) - would love to come back in the future.

First day, in our arrival Manager introduced us with rules and policies such as we have just one bottled water in a glass jar left in the room for both uses to clean our teeth and for drink. If we should need more he suggested to go out of the hotel and buy our own. First point of poor service such as guests. The very heavy rain ☔️ didn’t allow to go anywhere, Manager should alternatively offer his help for that. From day one, Manager looked very unhelpful and almost was trying to controversy our points about the following: 1 : poor internet connection and with no internet at all in the rooms. 2 : First visit in a room where it was a leak outside and explained that they are waiting for the constructors to come and fix it. By saying this, he showed disappointment to change us the room, and we were waiting around half an hour to make a decision. Last but not least, we expected a view in the ocean that we upgraded from the initial room, instead we had a little view of it behind a forest of trees!! 3 : The second room was ok with still no access to Wi-Fi and major broken wall next to the restroom. 4 : Breakfast with no variety of choices and almost everything was finished. They made us sign a paper at the end of how much quantity of food we had. At all these times, Manager showed a behaviour of arrogance and laziness to do anything. He only apologised for the perpetually waiting for not having internet and almost he accused us that we want to disgrace the hotel. For a Boutique hotel, company should be more careful to select the staff. Finally, we decided to leave the hotel in our second night made us very disappointed with loss of energy dealing with him. And of course, never coming back again!!!!

Excellent, peaceful location to stay in Matemwe with easy access to diving and snorkeling! Comfortable rooms, great beach access, friendly staff.

We started our stay with a few minor hiccups but Joshua came thru like a Rock Star! He genuinely cares about you during your stay and will not stop short ensuring your time at the Pearl is excellent. All the staff were fantastic. From the Swahili dinner night complete with Ngoma dancing, all were fantastic. The common area has a relaxing spot to have a cocktail and a bite. Sure to be served with a smile.
