South Wind Guesthouse

This was a cute property . The location was great . Right next to the waterfront and lots of nearby restaurants. I wish it was more bang for your buck . I was visiting from usa . However it had most everything that was needed . Would recommend . Wish it was slightly cheaper given the amenities etc .

Lovely 8-room, family run property. Big clean rooms, cozy beds, good shower and generous "continental" breakfast. PERFECTLY located to walk to the seaside, restaurants, the town square, and transportation - but quiet and charming (unlike the noisier shinier Sliwa or Valetta). Really lovely spot we cant wait to return to. Many thanks to Frangesco, Madeline and Loreta for making us feel at home!

Very spacious room with a nice terrace. The ground floor pool outside terrace is not open yet but the rooftop pool area is lovely with great views. Very close to the village, restaurants, etc. Very friendly staff. Some rooms are very far from reception and require trips in 3 seperate elevators.

An excellent place to stay in Malta

Charming and quiet area.

This beautiful guesthouse is a gem. It's new and exquisitely decorated, safe, immaculately clean and 10 seconds walk to the harbour (you can see it from the entry). We had originally booked elsewhere - a 'portview guesthouse' but that place was so awful. So we moved to SouthWinds immediately. SouthWinds is a local family fishing business who moved to hospitality and really care. Lora offered us a warm welcome. The room had a superb comfy bed, modern air conditioning, a smart tv, microwave and fridge. We also had a balcony, with a side sea view and view of the lovely little street below - great for people watching. Breakfast was the BEST and changed daily - always with a variety of cheeses and meat, fresh cut fruit, yogurts, choice of bread and local pastries, jams, juices and hot fresh ground coffee by the cup. It set us up for the day. We always found free street parking nearby and there is a shop a few doors along that stocks loads. We had such a wonderful stay and will be back!

Just spent the most amazing 12 days in Marsaxlokk at the Southwind Guest House If you can, stay in the rooftop room - it has its own private sun terrace. We spent a LOT of time there just basking in the sun, thanks to the sun loungers, umbrella and dining space. If you want to be lazy and eat in, there’s surely nowhere better. And even the power station failed to dampen the classic views of the harbour and luzus bobbing That said, the whole of Marsaxlokk is barely a 10 minute walk away. That covers ALL of the local restaurants & takeaways In the evenings, it was like we had become locals. Once the “day tourists” had left, Marsaxlokk reverts to being a sleepy fishing village Francesco and his team looked after us superbly. Nothing was too much trouble, and as there were only 8 rooms, it was never busy. A generous continental breakfast was provided every morning, and their attention to Covid-related cleanliness was impeccable Malta is a small island, but having your own wheels means that short excursions can cover almost the whole island in less than a day. We took separate trips to see Medina/Rabat, Dhingli Cliffs, the Blue Grotto etc. We also walked some of the local cliff top paths (though it did get hot!) It’s really hard to think of anything negative about the guest house or the local area

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room with balcony is very spacious and the balcony is also very nice. We had a nice view in the small streets of Marsaxlokk :) the breakfast was simple but good. I would totally recommand this place if you like a familiar and calm athmosphere.

Fantastico hotel. Abbiamo avuto un piccolo problemino iniziale ma sono stati super gentili a cambiarci camera per una notte e a tutti i costi ci hanno voluto rimborsare una parte del pagamento. Complimenti anche alla pulizia e a tutto lo staff. Continuate così. Piccolino ma accogliente
