I stayed in double room - compact. The room is very clean and it is also super huge which is beyond my expectation. Service was excellent. I want to give more than 5 stars for this hotel because I was very satisfied with the room and service.

The service was good polite and the staff were knowledgeable about anything that I asked. I enjoyed the shower as it was hot and powerful. The free WiFi was very nice and breakfast was nice

Excellent price and good location for Piccadilly and Oxford Road train stations. Ideal location for our trip - a concert at the Manchester Academy down by the uni. As good as any of the big branded hotels (Premier Inn etc), at a much better price. Selected also due to good availability of twin rooms, great for travelling friends. Option of breakfast (we didn't take this) and the hotel features a decent bar by the looks of it. Sub 10mins walk from train stations and on the edge of the city centre proper makes for a great location. Good access to various pubs nearby too. Room was clean, quiet, good size, excellent size. Highly recommend for a short stay.

I stayed at the Pendulum Hotel in Manchester for one night on a Sunday while up for a work meeting. The hotel doubles as an event centre and is tucked just at the end of the party district near the Pride area — close enough to enjoy the city’s buzz, but still tucked away enough for a good night’s rest. The building is built around a central courtyard with a garden bar, giving it a nice open atmosphere. It’s very obvious the hotel used to be student accommodation — the wood furnishings, compact desk, and overall layout are straight out of a university hall of residence. But honestly, that adds to its charm. For the price, it’s a great deal if you want to take a little trip down memory lane and relive those student-style stays (with much cleaner bathrooms!) The room was spotless, the bed super comfortable, and the shower facilities very clean. It’s on the smaller side, so best suited to solo travellers or short stays. I grabbed some hot fries from the bar in the evening and took them up to my room — a nice, casual touch. Breakfast the next morning was buffet style with a great selection, and every staff member I met — at check-in, check-out, and breakfast — was friendly and helpful. The only odd part was the music: it sounded like someone had YouTube running, complete with adverts and two overlapping tracks at one point! The only downside was noise. The courtyard carries sound easily, so if windows are open, you’ll hear everything echo. Guests above me were up late chatting and singing, then arguing in the morning — staff were aware and handled it well after several reports, but it’s something to note. I’d suggest bringing earplugs just in case. Overall, this is a great, affordable spot in the city centre — friendly, nostalgic, and practical. Perfect for a quick work trip or a short stay in Manchester. I’d definitely stay again… just with earplugs packed next time!

Very disappointed in this stay. The tables and wardrobe was filthy and thick with dust . We woke up drenched because of the water proof sheeting. The shower was dangerous and the plug was semi blocked making a swimming pool. The staff were helpful but the room wasn’t up to scratch at all.

First time staying here, the location was easy to find and the hotel was great and extremely clean, even with a budget room the facilities were good and the room was spotless! Will definitely stay here again! 10/10

Very nice hotel great service. The staff was fabulous helped in every way they could. Food was brilliant hotel was clean ,it’s in a great place near to Piccadilly station trams and buses it’s not far from the arndale centre and deansgate one lady who does the breakfast was unbelievable can’t remember her name but she was there Monday morning . The only downside was the rooms are small

Well, the room itself was good, small but well thought out except that there is no light switch by the bed. Comfortable bed, decent TV and compact but fully functional shower room with an excellent power shower. Check-in was simple, just had to pay an extra £1 for the Manchester tourist tax. And the location is very good, in the University area by the Graphene institute and a few minutes walk from the main drag and Piccadilly station. But the breakfast! Oh dear. I was welcomed and informed I could sit anywhere but every table was dirty, not a clean place anywhere, and only a few places were set with cutlery. Found a relatively clean table eventually then went to the self-service buffet. Good selection of food but the hot food - eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, tomoatoes, mushrooms, hash browns - was old and cold. Breakfast is from 7 to 10 am. I got there at 9 and I think the food had been put out at 7. Just about edible but not great. You could have played tennis with the rubbery eggs. Only small coffee/tea cups available, and quite randomly laid out. Unfortunately it was free (at least, included in the room rate) so couldn't even get a refund. Take the room, but go out for breakfast!

too small and old. it is very dark in the night. but it is cheap so consider on you.
