Surprised at how clean and comfortable this hotel was for the price. Will definitely be back in my way through next weekend to take my son back to Michigan Tech.

I understand that we stayed during the winter when the city is a ghost town, but it was like the staff have not walked the halls of the hotel since the tourist season ended. Our room had trash on the bathroom counter and floor. The desk clerk claimed the heat was on in the room during check in, it was not on when we arrived to the room. Shortly after arriving we walked to the water park, which was like a maze that you could easily get lost in. The three flights of stairs to the pool/water park area were completely dark with no lighting at all, guests had to use their flashlights. There was trash, and dirty linen on every floor of the hallways. The front desk clerk even reported that she has never walked the floor plan and was not able to give us direction when we checked in. Our room was right next to what seemed like a pump room, you could hear the pump running every few minutes and a loud fan running constantly. I would highly recommend the staff be more attentive to their building.

Check in was at another site with instructions on the sliding entry door. The instructions were check in across the street. Actually down the street about a thousand feet. At the site entry sliding door had to be manually operated which was a poor 1st impression. Room bathroom was in poor shape (see pic) also shower has wallpaper peeling off the wall above shower. Room itself had water damage in corner & bed had noticeable depression in mattress. Would not recommend the Bayside motel and will not stay there again.

My stay at the Bayside Hotel started off bad right from check-in. I arrived at the hotel and when I walked up to the door there was a sign saying I needed to check in at the Hamilton. I drove down the road to the Hamilton only to be told I needed to drive back to the Crown Hotel which is next door to the Bayside to check-in. The lobby of the Crown was a mess with boxes and trash all over. It took 30 minutes to check-in. After we got our keys we went to our room and found out the keys wouldn't work. We had to go back twice to get the correct keys to get into our room. Once inside the room I found furniture that looked like it had been chewed on, hair on the sheets, and such thick dust on the lampshades that they were fluffy. There was also peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, the coat hook on the back of the bathroom door almost fell out, and the hair dryer almost caught on fire when it was turned on. There were also a couple of outlets that were unusable. We were not told that the Bayside or Crown have no attendants at the front desk during the week or to leave the keys in the room so when I went to check out I was again directed by a sign to go to the Hamilton. I drove down there to check out and was greeted with another empty lobby. I called out several times and ended up having to dial the hotel while standing in the lobby to get someone to come and help me. Overall it was an extremely unpleasant stay and possibly one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had.

The outer security locks were broken. The front desk was vacant, instead guests had to go to another hotel to check in, and there was no host present between 11pm and 7am. The were no working vending machines, nor was there a desk to purchase anything from - instead the check in desk was empty. When I first checked into my room, there was an unflushed turd in the toilet.
