I stayed in the dormitory and the room was extremely old and run down, in desperate need of repair. I was scared to touch anything in the bathroom. However the staff were all lovely and very helpful.

Really nice location, right in town. Nice staff at the reception. Nice hotel for couple nights. Would recommend. Just a bit noisy Friday and Saturday but it’s ok :)

Booked a female dorm. Had to stay with 3 men due to overbooking.. old, dark rooms, uncomfortable mattress. Definitely need a renovation but for the price alright and I appreciate the cute folded towel

Mold here and there on things, even on sheets, brown water from the tap that cleared after a minute but I still felt like it was not safe to use, noisy from the pub below, everything was shabby and in poor condition, but the AC, that was the only thing that worked well. Close to the public transport, so that was good for me. otherwise, it's a place for drunk people with low standards.

Would not stay there again building needs an upgrading also bathroom need upgrading too the furniture in the room we didn't feel safe

Meals where great and reasonably priced, staff where great, Main function areas where really well set out and pleasant. Rooms not up to par. Hot, tiles falling apart, windows rusted shut and just “Blah”

I couldn’t sleep due to very loud music all night until 2am. It felt like my room was in the middle of the bar. Will never stay at that place.
It was a relatively clean place but everything is pretty old.

Great staff, super friendly and helpful. My room wasn’t secure though, with one window missing a panel and a set of louvres ’repaired’ with a beer sign. 😂 also the missing window panels meant the karaoke was super loud. Overall pretty stoked to get an en-suite and bar fridge for the price.

For the cleaning in the buthroom not to good! Need to use the bleache!!! Very moulding!
The Fan is very ,very dusty and the mirrow have to change ,+ the vanity/ porcelain/ having the lots of crack in it! In the bedroom next to the bad top the Drows having the self is/ malt the wood!

If you're staying overnight on a Saturday, be prepared for no sleep. Music pounding threw the walls till 2am.... Other than that, the staff are awesome

Great value for the price. Sure, if you want 5 star luxury, this isn't for you - find somewhere else- at a lot higher price!
Bedding clean and comfortable. Room clean though dated - but as you would expect.
No noise problem - but no live music when i stayed, if there was music on i would probably be listening to it rather than trying to have an early quiet night.
Loved lady at reception was really helpful ( I hadn't realised bookings were on line only )
All in all, if i need a cheap convenient place to stay in Mackay, I'll be back Thanks7
