Golden Beach

Stayed at this hotel for 11 nights and just got back a couple of days ago. Was a bit apprehensive reading some other reviews however have zero complaints at all about it. We booked a side sea view room which was more than big enough for two of us and the view from our balcony was great. Balcony was a little bit small but we could both sit on it fine with enough space. The shower in the bathroom was on the small side however did what we needed it to. We went half board and found there was plenty choice at breakfast from cereal/pancakes/fruit/eggs/bacon etc although as a vegetarian I did struggle a little bit at tea time and the few nights we ate at the hotel I mostly just ate pasta and chips/potatoes. We did only eat a few nights so could have been more choice on the nights we ate out. You can sit out on the balcony at meal times which overlooks the beach and sea. The staff were all friendly and maids cleaned our room and gave us fresh towels every day. One particular lady at the buffet restaurant on an evening was especially polite and friendly. Our room was on the top floor right next to the pool which was convenient although it could be slightly inconvenient if your room is further away as there is no pool bar so we found ourselves going to the room for drinks top ups. This did save us some money though and saved us spending loads of money on drinks throughout the day from the bar. Air con was excellent and we arrived at midnight to a welcome drink each (pomegranate tea I think), two bottles of water in our fridge and a burger and vegetarian wrap each in the fridge also which I thought was nice. Hotel is a 5-15 minute walk to the bars and restaurants. Would recommend this hotel especially considering it’s over half the price of the sister hotel next door (Akasha) although obviously is a lower star rating. Couldn’t fault our stay!

Amazing hotel absolutely wonderful staff and great location! Bars and restaurants a plenty all around you only a short walk and very quiet at night you can hear the ocean (hence the name of hotel) Room adaquate & suited purpose, air con and balcony very nice. Coffee /kettle in room with a fridge which came in handy for water /snacks. Hairdryer in bathroom small but did the job. Breakfast had a great choice from full English to continental/cereals and pastries. Coffee machines and juice. Dinner was a good range also. Pool area on roof very nice although this will get full July/august so may struggle to get a bed. Pool not really suited to Children as deep and only one set of stairs to get in. Has room/lockers for late checkout only €2 for locker so made our late check out super easy! Nothing really to fault this hotel I was very impressed and would stay again. Well deserved 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Modern hotel. Described as “On the beach”, but there is a road before the very narrow beach. The hotel charges 15 Euros for using the beach (Umbrella and 2 seats). The rooms are narrow and a result the balcony is very small, hardly enough for 2 people to sit with knees touching (the smallest I have ever experienced in a hotel). There are only two drawers in the room, below the wardrobe at less than 5 inches from the floor. The bathroom is also tiny. The air conditioner motor is on the tiny balcony. The swimming pool – on the roof - is about 10 m long and between 2-3 m wide. Use of Umbrella and seats here is free. We were charged 30 Euros for a late checkout, despite the fact that the hotel was being closed the next day as it was end of season (i.e. no guests coming). All that despite the hotel being rated as 3 star plus by TUI!! Only the food and service were at that level or higher . The staff in the restaurant in particular were very pleasant.

Happy with the stay in the hotel. The air conditioner worked perfectly and we had a small balcony as well which was great for drying our clothes. We had half board and there was plenty of food to choose from. The receptionists, bar staff, and housekeepers were amazing and very helpful. The only downside is the beach which has stones but just a few meters away there are better ones and even better if you have a car, Crete has some amazing ones not far from the hotel.

I was alone in Greece with my little daughter Maja. The employees were all very nice and never annoyed, even if my daughter sometimes shed tears. All the staff in the restaurant, reception and also the cleaning ladies are professional, very nice people. The food was also very good, the beds were comfortable.

The hotel positions itself as a 3,5 stars hotel which is exactly the case, in the worst case scenario. Expect no service or attention to you as a guest unless you are from a privileged group. The waiters start to clean up your table while you are still eating. No free drinks of any sort during the dinners (paid dinners). No printed out rules/services, guess yourself what's included and how to reside here, ask twice for the wifi password. The sand beach is partially sand, expect harsh rocks when entering the water. Room service is fine. The water is nice and warm, the only thing I would go for in here.

Great hotel. Fantastic location. Super friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant food, seating, service was excellent. Bar staff, thankyou for your personal touch and service I wish you the best. Superb multi national family hotel. Free table tennis and pool to get away from the mid day sun. Reception staff were great and attentive. Restaurant manager always checking, do you ever sleep. What a lovely holiday we had. Thankyou.

Families beware. You will need ear plugs and a car if you want to make the most of your family holiday here ! The hotel is very noisy at night as it’s got a lot of large groups of young men doing what they do. The main area of the hotel are without air conditioning which in Greece is difficult. The food is ok and the staff are wonderful but the tables you have to get in early to get one of the 8 outside ones. The area took me back to my 18-30s holiday with the football team so families think again if you want a quiet time.

Now where to start, golden beach hotel is a holiday I will remember for the rest of my life. The location of the hotel is unquestionably perfect, the views for the room and around the grounds of the hotel looking on to the sea. The facilities are lovely with their stunning views from their roof top pool, perfect for a relaxing day. Me and my pregnant girlfriend stayed for a week and the staff were so accommodating towards her, we had a minor problem in our original room and they moved us straight away and upgraded us the young man at reception was exceptionally helpful with everything Thank you for our amazing holiday 10/10 recommend
